RUMOR: Dallas interested in acquiring Lamar Miller

right now Randle is not in trouble with law, the only thing pending is a misdemeanor shoplifting which can be set aside if he does a program which involves community service and some fines.
Drug charges were dropped and the domestic violence after a full investigation will be dismissed.

ok well he's run of the mill anyways...i doubt big d is warm and fuzzy about him even with that oline to play behind...they should make a full court press to see if seattle would take buried on the depth chart christine michael for a 3rd rounder...probably get a no from seattle on that but if they offered up a 2nd they may take it

i would jump on michael...that's probably more possible than any of the other options in trade and he's as good as any of them

People forget but the Dolphins didn't even consider Lamar Miller a starter heading into last season. We signed Knowshon and that's who became the immediate starter. Then Knowshon got hurt (big surprise) and even then we never did give Lamar Miller a true starter's workload. He never got 20 carries in any single game and his attempts per game tied him for 20th in the league with Jonathan Stewart.

And this is the guy so valuable we should tell Dallas it's a first rounder or bust? The guy we don't even seem all that interested in giving the ball to? The guy who isn't even under contract after this year?

I don't think identifying a role, and having a player excel in that role, should be confused with disinterest, or a lack of value to the team.

randle is in trouble with the law mcfadden will be hurt before the bye week they definitely need a back but miamis not giving them miller...not when he's a 3rd round pick return anyways

kcs crazy to give them niles davis too...if the boys want a back they should go try and get christine michael from the seahawks...that's what i would do...

Both of those guys fumble a lot and Davis in my memory of watching him is more of a specimen than a true running back. Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.

Michael is far more interesting but he's apparently a headcase. That's why he couldn't even crack the starting lineup at aTm over Cyrus ****ing Gray. But just from a pure running talent standpoint he's top three in the league imo. And Jones doesn't exactly back away from headcases. That locker room probably has it's own padded cell they use as a time out room.

I'm a bit disturbed that this is "not in trouble with the law" in your view. The guy is an off field powder keg. That's a crazy laundry list that will only be replaced by other laundry items once he's 'cleared.'

Scuttlebutt is the dude isn't well liked within the organization. If you recall, he called out Dez Bryant, Jones' prized possession, in the media mid season. The dude runs his mouth as much as anyone, with no reputation to back it up. I don't know what that means for roster security, but its never a good thing to be on Jones' bad side if you're a Cowboy.

I think he is pretty secure since they didn't go all out to keep Murray and ddint sign any major free agent.
They had every chance to draft a runningback and passed repeatedly.
I think they still want Peterson of course and to be truthful not sure why Minnesota doesn't try to make a deal.
Peterson and Minny seem a burned bridge.

Well, the less valuable your role, the less value you are going to have regardless of how much you excel in that role. Right guards have a certain capped level of compensation, for example. So do running backs who average 13.5 carries per game like Miller did last year.

Everything I've heard about the Dolphins this year is that they actually want to run the ball more and throw it less than last year. It might not seem that way based on the acqusitions we made at WR but that's my understanding. They could be looking to expand Miller's role, but honestly I do think they look at him as a guy who's carries have to be capped. He's not a grinder who gets better as the game goes on.

davis beat the brakes off us week 3 i know that...he's quite a specimen i dont think his fumbles and durability issues in college have shown themself yet but i may be wrong...michaels issue has been pass pro...just hasnt picked it up that well yet...but i think you'd get one determined guy with plenty of mileage left who's been used sparingly and who's body has barely been scratched...he'd give dallas 1500 plus yards easy...easy...if he didnt get hurt...hell he's more explosive than demarco murray even

For a 1st and 2nd round pick in 2016 and a 3rd round pick in 2017 I'd do it. I am also that nice I would convert the 3rd rounder in 2017 into one 4th round and one 5th round pick in 2016.

Plus I pick up Tebow and throw him in for free - with a bag full of bibles.

:chuckle:

i'd trade lamar miller right now for christine michael if seattle would do it...done

nothing special about miller other than his quick acceleration

Unless its a sign and trade for dez Bryant I'm not that interested. the NFL doesn't do those though. I would really hate to see him go though as he is still young and cheap and really good. I don't see it happening but you never know. Dallas offers a first next year and all of the sudden Miller is a cowboy. I hope he stays a fin and we get to see Miller and Ajayi together with a great new line!

Well, that and because it would be the worst trade in the history of the NFL. And that's not even hyperbole.

Im sorry you are disturbed, misdemeanor shop lifting is a relatively minor offense legally speaking.
If your a first time offender you can enter program and it will be removed from your record.
The other charges were dropped.

To give you an example his shoplifting offense is basically the same as driving without a license if u never had one or its been expired for over a year.
Its a class B misdemeanor, if it had been over 500 dollars then it would be a class A which is worse. If it was under 50 then a class C which is a fine.
If you were driving on suspended license you would be committing a class A misdemeanor.

Davis beat the hell out of us but he averaged 3.5 yards per carry last year, which is the same as what he averaged as a rookie. That's a full yard and a half less than what Jamaal Charles averaged in a down year for Charles. Dude has a perfect body for a running back but he should probably just go quit and become a body builder or something. He's not a real running back.

Michaels' issue like I said from everything I've heard is that he's just not right in the head. Lazy, disobedient, just a weirdo. Which would make sense why he would struggle in the passing game because that's the part you have to work at. But he runs the ball at an elite level, and he does it just completely naturally. One of these days he's going to get his shot and run for 250 yards in a game and then he'll go right back to being a mental midget the rest of the time.

i didnt watch a lot of davis so i'll take your word on it...he looked like legit talent to me vs us i know that...michael i think just needs to get a chance...not here's 5 carries and go sit on the bench but to go into a season knowing he's the #1 back and gonna get top back run and i think he explodes

he's way too talented to be buried on anyones depth chart...but when you got marshawn lynch doing the super human things he still does i guess seattles take is we are biding time...

We won't get a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd for Miller. I like the guy but he isn't worth any of those picks. I would like to see him traded straight up for Ronald Leary. They have Collins sitting waiting and he may push for a starting LG spot. That would make Leary available. Solid starter at LG.

Everyone is available for the right price. And what's monumentally clear is that you think Lamar Miller's price should be more than any other RB's price.

There's another aspect here which is that we don't know how what the FO thinks of Miller. Remember all the rumors we were hot after Todd Gurley? Lamar Miller has a nice downhill style for a spread 'em out running attack but he doesn't break tackles, can't catch and doesn't block very well. But if Dallas comes along and offers a 2nd rounder for a guy who won't even be around after this year apparently we should tell them to go **** themselves. :sidelol:

Actually I am not saying I believe Miller is worth a 1st round or that he is worth more then all other RBs, what I'm saying is, if the Cowboys want Miller, they are going to have to over pay...overpay considerably.

You are right that we have no idea what the organization thinks of Miller or what their plans are, but other then Miller, the Dolphins have no other RB that they can actually depend on to consistently be productive and injury free for the entire year, so the one thing we all have to believe, the Dolphins are in no hurry to get rid of one of their most consistent weapons.

Miami needed to get another RB because of two factors. First, they needed to have a better power back to be able to convert 3rd and short and goal-line situations better. Even though Miller very rarely loses yardage or gets caught in the backfield, he is not powerful enough to get those extra 1-3 yards on 3rd when defense are expecting it.

The 2nd factor you already mentioned, Miami next year will have to either sign Miller or allow him to hit FA, and teams will be interested in Miller's services, so Miami needs to be ready. In picking up Ajayi, he is the perfect 3rd down RB, considering how good his hands are, and he is also a big back, but he comes with injury concerns, if Miami was actually hoping to get rid of Miller, they would have tried to get a RB that could be thought as more reliable to stay healthy the entire season.
