RUMOR: Dallas interested in acquiring Lamar Miller

We need Miller this year. The whole point is to pair him with Ajayi. They can be a great running duo. No deal would please me, not even a first round pick next year. This is the year for us to make a push and we need all of our pieces.

Hmmmm..... I agree with everything you said .

Except .... If they give you a first round pick ... You take it , run full speed and never look back .

Very unlikely that would happen

But you would handicap your chances of competing for the playoffs THIS year? I know Lamar Miller is not worth a first and that it's a crazy offer, but for our current situation, we need him more for this year to compete than to sit tight and wait for next year. Ajayi could be a stud, but we need Miller to pair with him this year. It's difficult to pass up a first round pick, but I'm taking a "win now" mentality with this.

And of course, this is all hypothetical talk, they would never give us a first for Miller.

Our chances are already handicapped by coaching.

We get Collins and a 2nd, I'd do that!!

U couldn't get Collins for Miller much less a 2nd

I don't think they can trade him as an UDFA per NFL rules and I can't imagine why they would possibly want to. They got a 1st round talent on the extreme cheap.
Why would there be restrictions on an UDFA? I understand they may not want to but as far as I know the only players that can't be traded are those with a no-trade clause

I thought I had read it somewhere, but I could be wrong. Doesn't matter, 2.0x10^-32% chance that they make that trade, even if they can.

The um ties are blinding most of the fans here, I love Miller, but if we can get a stud lineman and or a pick for Miller I say do it. Miller was great and we will probably not be resigning him anyways. We can send them Dallas Thomas and Miller for a draft pick. I honestly feel D. Williams can do what Miller did.
Very true. If he was a Florida Gator they would have traded him for a jar of pickle juice .... pickles not included.

The absolute most a team would give for Miller is a 4th, with the far more likely scenario of a 5th or 6th being the most they would give. For that reason, I doubt we trade Miller.

He will be part of an RB by committee with Ajayi just like Lazor has done everywhere he had 2 talented backs. Ajayi will be the 3rd down guy, goal line guy and and 4th quarter protect a lead guy. Miller will be the change of pace speed.

Next year, we will let Miller walk in free agency and draft someone else to pair with Ajayi. As good as Ajayi may become (assuming he fixes his fumbling problem), he isn't the basket we want to put all of our eggs into.

Is starting LG Ronald Leary good enough to trade for our starting RB - or would either team have to sweeten the pot with a late round pick?

As a GM you should feel like any player is tradable for right price.

I think Leary for Miller would need another pick thrown in by Dallas. Maybe a 5th.
I feel Collins will take Leary's spot this year or Free if he is banged up.
