RUMOR: Dallas interested in acquiring Lamar Miller

None, but to the Cowboys he is worth a 1st round because...

1. The Cowboys are desperate, and everyone knows it

2. Miller with the Dolphins line has average about 4.5 yards a carry, imagine what he can do with the Boys O-line.

3. The Cowboys like Miller, or they wouldn't come asking the Dolphins about a player they know is their starter, no matter who they took in the draft.

4. Wait for that player to reach FA, and they might lose him in a bidding war, trade for him now, and you can negotiate for a deal that might make everyone happy.

5. When Jerry wants someone, or something, he gets it no matter the price, and again, everyone knows this.

So no running back in the NFL is worth the compensation you want for Lamar Miller, but that's the least you'd consider for Lamar Miller? Got it. :bobdole:

Almost none but the point is hes more valuable to us right now then a draft pick next year would be. A 1st puts it over the top however. Would you accept a 3rd? I think a 3rd is fair value

To be honest I don't know what fair value would be. Even a third seems steep given the contract year scenario. Remember, Marshall Faulk got traded for a 2nd and a 5th when he was in his prime.

1st round pick? Ship him out. I like Williams and everybody is on the Ajayi train. The running back position now a days is all about putting tread on the tires early while they're at their peak physically. Ride the train. Pick up a vet at the end of camp cuts. There is always a couple good RB's in the pool after cuts. A 1st round pick is insane value for a guy in a contract year at a position with a crap shelf life.

RB's are replaceable...the Cowboys know that too. So, we probably won't get any big offer here...so, probably better just to keep him.

Yeah, but Faulk didn't play for The U.

hell yeah. miller is barely worth a 3 rd. teams value draft picks we all know that. miller would never fetch a 1st or 2nd

If he's worth a 3rd round pick by your statement. How could you turn around and say he would "never" fetch a 2nd? Especially, considering he's still very young and has improved every year as a player?

I think he is taking in to account he is a free agent soon, maybe

I don't think you get it, so let me make it extremely simple....

Miami does not have to trade Miller, they have no intension of trading Miller, in fact they should not trade Miller imo, but if the Cowboys become so interested that they have to have Miller, they better talk 1st round or go somewhere else. Hope that makes things clear for you. :)

I don't think they can trade him as an UDFA per NFL rules and I can't imagine why they would possibly want to. They got a 1st round talent on the extreme cheap.

It would be like drafting him at 14 and trading him for Miller which I doubt would happen.
I assume they might be offering a 3rd

Maybe they are thinking Morris Clairborne for Lamar Miller although Clairborne hasn't been good and is coming off injury.

Everyone is available for the right price. And what's monumentally clear is that you think Lamar Miller's price should be more than any other RB's price.

There's another aspect here which is that we don't know how what the FO thinks of Miller. Remember all the rumors we were hot after Todd Gurley? Lamar Miller has a nice downhill style for a spread 'em out running attack but he doesn't break tackles, can't catch and doesn't block very well. But if Dallas comes along and offers a 2nd rounder for a guy who won't even be around after this year apparently we should tell them to go **** themselves. :sidelol:
