Frerotte has proven that he can handle the system, he's already done it in Minnesota.
Yeah he wants to win. And he has already stated to the media that he hasn't ruled out starting Sage. having confidence and having the ability to play are 2 different things . Gus has been a career backup . And just because he backed up in Minnesota and knows the offense doesn't mean he is the best choice.
I really don't usually put much stock in preseason games either but. They do give you a pretty good measuring stick of what your offense will look like in the regular season. And so far the only thing Gus has proven is he can't win over the coaches to be given the starting position.
Anyways its pretty much a moot point anyways. I trust in Nick to start a Qb . And if they fail move on to next guy until he finds that gem. I really don't care who starts. All I am saying is it really doesn't hurt to start Sage.
