Saban not ruling out Sage

I was saying this a LOOOOOOONG time ago. I never said that Sage should definitely start, but he SHOULd be given the same opportunity to start as AJ and Whoever else we've got/had!!!
 
I think what we saw last night is Gus solidyfing his starters job by default and Sage possibly moving up to second string.

I dont want Ferotte to start at all...He is supposed to know the offense and Aj still makes too many mistakes...Im not going just off tonight performance but I'd rather let Sage start the first four games and see how he does...If he does bad then let Feeley play the rest...you never know Sage could prove that when he does good in preseason it wasn't just because he was playing 2nd and 3rd stringers

well, he really should feel comfortable as the miami QB. he's been here the longest. saban wouldnt be committing a blunder by starting the QB who put up the best numbers of the three. how can you go wrong? let it be Sage's job to lose. also, if this is what you have to do to instill some motivation in the other two who were projected to be starters then give the ball to Sage.

Then why has he been a fixture at the 3rd string spot, buddy? You have to earn the opportunity to start by consistantly showing the coaches what you have in practice. Sage had a good game....good for him. Maybe, if he has been producing in practice it will be enough to move him up a spot on the depth chart....maybe not. The point is that Sage has the opportunity every single day to earn a shot at the starting QB spot. So far he hasnt been able to perform well enough to even move off 3rd string.

that's a lot weighing on a coach's decsion to play the QB who HAS hit receivers in the end zone. it just doesn't make any sense to start anyone who has been plagued with non-productivity.
and if we shouldn't start sage because he played third team players then we shouldnt start aj nor gus since they couldnt drive the ball successfully against nfl starters, since thats who theyll be facing come september 11th.
 
I dont know what the take of people who saw the game is but I seemed to read that our offensive line was horrible and that both QBs were harrassed all 1st half. If our oline has not improved from last season it really doesnt matter who starts becuase none of our qbs are going to survive the entire season. i am getting the feeling all three qbs at one point in the season are going to start.

i didnt see the game but by the numbers i was curious as to what gus did and why didnt he play long? 2 for 3 and thats it? why just 3 attempts? evaluation of the running game? when did sage come in the game to where he was able to pass for 2 TDs and over 200 yds. how was he when he first came into the game?

We only gameplanned for ONE of these 5 games. And in that one we gamplanned for, Gus took the offense on the opening drive down the field and put up a quick 7.

Sage Rosenfels couldn't even make the roster of 25 of the 32 NFL teams and you and others are calling for him to start. And you are the same people who called Wannstedt stupid. AMAZING!
 
Sage has been the best QB all preseason. It would be stupid not to consider him for the starting job.

Start Gus, toss Sage in at second string, and either use Feeley at 3rd string or cut him. We can bring in Brock Berlin, Tim Couch, or anyone else and it would be low risk high reward for us at 3rd string. How crazy would it be to see Feeley as part of the cut list on tuesday? It would send a message to the league and the the team that if you suck, no one is safe.
It's somewhat beautiful to see the Feeley fans turning on him. Im so glad this game happened now and not during the regular season.

i think that you keep feeley even if he's named the third guy just before 9/11.
if he did anything in philly that caught the great spielman's eye it was to successfully start in place of an injured starter. maybe thats the only way aj can play. maybe thats the only way gus can play as well. as for the offensive line, all three of these QBs have to deal with it so let fate decide the big decision. start sage and if its meant to be our OL will be utilized by the great gig in the sky by letting them suck when they need to in order to leave one of the three standing and the other two on the sidelines. with this scenerio maybe sage and berlin (after re-signed) will be our number 1 & 2, respectively and all of us will be proven wrong. its early, no coffee yet. let me have fun.

it really would be but it seems like the mentality that would question so simple is becoming an epidemic.

mike. what did gus do after that 7? nada. sage had more td's, more passing yardage, way better QB rating, as did berlin, than the two competing for the starting job. what sage did, aj and gus shouldve done, knowing that the job was open.

check this out: imagine each of these three QBs starting game one. each of these QBs pass inefficiently and we put up small numbers our first game. which of these three QBs would have the right attitude in order to bounce back the next game? sage.
