Your nuts if you think we have the same level of talent at Detroit or SF. Detroit has a hall of fame WR, the best DT in the league, a legit #1 TE, a great young QB. Miami has NONE of those!! SF is also light years ahead of us talent wise. Crabtree, Gore, Vernon, WIllis....the list is endless

So you are saying we need to tank another 10 seasons to get the kind of to picks/players Detroit has?

never said anything of the sort. But don't say we have equal talent to the Lions. We don't. Not even close!

They have hit home runs on draft picks the past 2 or 3 years. We have missed on a ton of them. That's the big difference
 
I don´t think we have equal talent but if Marshall doesn't drop as many TDs as he did we would be having a different conversation.
 
Bot I hope this "source" is right. I hate the suck for Luck attitude. But I like the idea of an owner that is willing to get a quarterback for the future. And the fact that Ireland is probably gone is a blessing. I was dreading the end of the season and the fact that he was still probably going to have a job.
 
This is what happens when you have a fan that runs the team.

Ross knows absolutely nothing about football.

He wants a run-n-gun offense, he wants a franchise QB, he wants a superstar HC.

Wtf, whose the last team that has actually done that? He's living in fantasy land. Proven coaches aren't always the best. They believe in their way and their way only. Since they are "proven", most of their mindsets are "my way or the highway". Yeah that will sit real well with the players in the locker room.

Lets look at the last couple of coaches on good to elite teams recently.

Green Bay - Mike McCarthey is a Superstar name!
Saints - Sean Payton is a Superstar name!
Pats - Bill Belichick was a Superstar hire after being terrible in Cleveland!
Lions - John Schwartz is a Superstar name!
Steelers - Mike Tomlin is a Superstar name!
Ravens - John Harbaugh is a Superstar name!
49ers - Jim Harbaugh is a Superstar name!
Bills - Chan Gailey is a Superstar name!

I have found 0 Superstar proven Head Coaches prior to their hire. These coaches are extremely intelligent Football minds. What they do is adapt.

Ross needs to pull his head out of his *** and hire Chuck Pagano out of Baltimore. He is a "players" coach and is extremely intelligent as well.

Or Hire Russ Ball to run the entire team.

Its not a blessing to lose Ireland. He's a good GM.

You are the first I read to mention Pagano´s name. I´m OK with any up and coming OC or DC(Rob Ryan, Little Schotty). I just don´t want any czar Cowher or Gruden would be Parcells - The Sequel. We need also a new GM to evaluate talent...
 
I am very skeptical that Salguero has an inside informat that tells him all of Ross' plans. Its a believable theory because its what we all want to hear, but Armando Salguero likes to pass off his thoeries as truth, and always cites "the source" as his source. Since what he states is likely to happen anyway, Salguero is probably safe with his bogus reporting.

It will more than likely be Jon Gruden. All the signs and signals that are being sent it is that Ross is tired of the same old defense first, run the ball, manage the game from the quarterback position mentality. Well, that's the exact philosophy that Bill Cowher brings.

Jon Gruden is much more quarterback centric in his beliefs. He believes the team rises and falls with the play of the quarterback. He is also more likely to have a wide open, run and gun offense than Bill Cowher. I'm just curious to see who Jon brings on as GM. His guy is currently in Washington. A name I wouldn't rule out as GM is Mike Lombardi.

Uhhh.....we absolutely do. Johnson is probably the hands down leader of the "beast" WR corps of the league, but team wise we have equal talent without question. Talent isn't our problem, what is being done with that talent IS!!!
