Salguero: The reason the Dolphins did nothing on Monday

Ok Matt, what makes you think he doesn't? Just because heads didn't roll immediately after the game and he's not expressing his thoughts to the general public does not mean he doesn't have different plans in place. As fans, we KNOW NOTHING right now, all speculation, I'm just saying let's see what he does before we kill him.

Well my thoughts are based on the article. Now if the article is bogus then good for Ross. But the article states he wasn't prepared to miss the playoffs.

My question is why does it matter.

The Coaches that most likely would be interviewed are the same one turning down interviews right now because their teams are focusing on the playoffs. There is no rush to fire a guy when you can even interview the replacements yet.

And Matt, that is my argument, these journalist Fuc*ing suck. I used to take stock in these articles too but after years I can't believe any of them, they just love to stir the pot and try to beat the next guy in making some bullsh*t up.

And I'm not killing him. I am willing to be patient to see what happens. But let's face it Ross hasn't instilled confidence in the fan base to this point.

And I agree with that sentiment. But I gotta tell you, I was so frustrated with Sporano that I actually liked and thought Ross had balls to fly out and try to recruit Harbaugh. Tells you that Ross isn't as dumb as most people believe here. He saw major talent and he went for it. Maybe not the classiest move but he showed some balls trying to bring HC talent here.

Why are people taking speculation from Armando Salguero at face value?

You guys do realize that Armando is basically trying to save Jeff Ireland's job every time he pens something, right?

Don't fool yourself. He saw a Michigan alum. He just wanted to have a Michigan man running his toy because he loves his school. After all, he donated more to Michigan than he would invest in the Dolphins stadium or fanbase.

If Harbaugh weren't a Michigan legend, Ross wouldn't have the faintest clue who he is.

Another thing. I want Jeff Ireland axed as much as anyone, but it doesn't need to be done RIGHT THIS SECOND. Who are you afraid is about to be taken off the market? Lovie Smith?

Most of the personnel guys we'll be targeting are probably from playoff teams. Most of the assistant coaches we'll be targeting will be from playoff teams (Jay Gruden or Darrell Bevell come to mind). And I don't think Kevin Sumlin or Gus Malzahn are going to come coach the Dolphins. Sorry.

Whatever they are going to do as far as GM needs to happen within the next 3 days, I do not want to see Grimes get away or guys not being signed to futures contracts because we are sitting on Ireland and Ireland is sitting at his desk updating his resume.

They're negotiating with Paul Soliai right now. The structure of the team is set up such that there are three people involved in all of the decisions. Dawn Aponte survives again, it seems.

I agree with you. He could have been professional though and fired Sparano first but at least Ross tried. But it backfired and hurt his reputation. This is one of those examples of not instilling confidence in the fan base.

Incredible that he didnt even consider the possibility that this team would fall short. Simply incredible.

You know, people on here love to slam other posters by calling them "armchair GM's" and some of us have pointed out that members of this forum have proven to be more consistently accurate then the people running this franchise. Anyone have any doubts about that now? Even if we didnt think it would happen, the vast majority of the people who post on this forum at least considered we might fall apart at the end. Didnt even occur to our bloody owner. Incredible.

I have doubts now, when has anyone on this board been consistent about anything? one week he sucks and should be fired, the next week he is a pro bowler and great pick by Ireland, this week we have the best 2nd yr QB, mid week, the QB blows and we need to draft another.....one yr fire Sparano anyone would be better than him, 2yrs later this coaching staff sucks...you get the point I can go on and on and to be honest it shouldn't occur to the owner that we might fall apart, he believed in his people and players that they would get the job done, he even spoke to them (probably for the first time) mid week with a pep talk....give the guy some slack, the bottom line is he doesn't make any rash decisions, he needs to talk to the people he trust and then make a decision....I give him to Monday of next week. If he going to make a move he needs to get the next step in place which would probably be a team president who will conduct the GM search, what I don't want is him making a knee jerk reaction and we end up with a GM and Coaching staff that is worse than what we got now....

And to think we're drafting #19 in the draft. I was hoping to pick Johnny Football as insurance.

Expect the same thing next year if we go with Tanny-Hill.

That was the worst move Ross has made yet....if he wanted Harbaugh and didn't think Sparano was the coach of the future he should have fired Sparano at the end of the season...instead he extends his contract then decides to stop Harbaugh from signing with San Fran when everyone new that was the place Harbaugh wanted to coach all along....so what did he accomplish with that maneuver? It drove a wedge between the coach and GM, the players knew Tony's days were numbered, the top prospects in coaching avoided us like the plague or they used us for negotiating purposes all that for a trip to West Coast that was doomed from the beginning.....it didn't show balls it was amateur hour.......Ross may not be dumb but he is out of his league at the moment running a NFL franchise, hopefully he is smart enough to know this.....
