Blue...you may be right...maybe the Dolphins select Smith....pay him 5-6 mil to sit...but I don't see Saban doing that...not when he can select players who will start from day one. The Dolphins need playmakers...not bench sitters...and if you look at the games we lost last year...we were in most of them...fix the O-line....get another receiver who can catch and run afterwards...and pick up a running back that can make it interesting...is all the Dolphins really need. Thats the way I see it...and I believe thats the way Saban see's it too. Saban will draft a QB...but not early. In any event...it's great to be Dolphin fan....we have a future once again! GO PHINS!

We just disagree on how good Smith is Pete, I don't see him on the bench long. And we disagree about what we have in AJ Feeley.

I see Smith as a prototype Field general who will only get better as this 20 year old matures. This is a guy who will make many more good plays than mistakes. The biggest problem we've had the last five years besides Wannstedt is that we've had QB's who were mediocre, who made as many or more mistakes as they made good plays on average.

I guess we'll find out how Saban truly feels in a few days.

i think saban will see if feeley progresses or regresses.
if he regresses, dolphins will most likely have a similar year and have a chance to get our future franchise QB from USC.
if he progresses, we will have a decent season (8-8) and have our QB as well.

Well, no matter what you've seen in the past it doesn't change the fact that Ira Miller is a lot closer to this whole situation than the others writing about it, even closer than Boomer .

His educated guess is as good or better than anybody elses.
