It's okay, his Super Bowls MVPs are worthless. It's the 9+ regular season wins he needs to be elite.
It's such a ****ing joke with you
To be elite you need to be great a majority of the time, not a month here and there.
I'm not a shrink but if I was I'm sure there's got to be a name for someone who blames everyone else but himself or he's right while no one else is.
What could it be?
I'm not a typical fan who sways in the wind listening to what "experts" tell them to think. Sorry about that.
Junc I agree with you when you say that Namath had a greater impact on the game with SB 3 but if you think Eli knocking off the most prolific team of our generation isn't "historically significant" then wtf would be? Sorry but I think you should give credit where it's due.
I don't think it is, while NE was undefeated they were clearly slowing down, Brady was hurting. They didn't play great late in the season or in the AFC playoffs. It was still a huge upset but it had more to do w/ their D holding down one of the greatest offenses ever than their O.
Its really jokey because when it comes to Sanchez, all that matters is he had a good playoff game or two and that means he's good. With Eli, he has won two SB's so we'll go off half his regular season numbers (i.e. leaving out the TDs and mentioning double digit INTs). Junc, you are posting pure drivel. At least get it straight what you consider elite. In one breath its players that perform well in big games. In the next breath its some arbitrary thing like double digit INTs. You use whatever is convenient at that exact minute as your standard for greatness.
As far as Junc saying Eli has never had a good season...L O ****ING L. Yeah, 29 TDs, 16 INTs and 5,000 yards is no big deal. I mean Henne could even do that!
Let me know when I have argued that Sanchez is eltie, saying sanchez is a good QB is very different than this elite debate.
The problem is you guys make things up as you go along, you compare apples and oranges. I don't change my standards, elite is different from good. If I had a big game to win I'd pick Eli over Peyton but Peyton is the elite QB and Eli isn't.
Where did I say Eli never had a good season? I said he never had a GREAT season and if 29 and 16 leading a team to 9-7 is great then Sanchez must almost be great then as he threw 26 and 18 leading his team to 8-8.
This is the dumbest argument you've ever made, and that's saying something for you. I get the NY inferiority complex, but thinking Eli Manning at this point isn't a great Quarterback is absolutely ridiculous. You are pulling up his regular season numbers to argue against what is now one of the best post-season Quarterback's in NFL history. Laughable.
One of the best postseason Qbs that has only won playoff games in 2 of his 8 seasons? He's played excellent in 2 postseasons but you can't have a good one every 4 years and be considered one of the greatest postseason QBs ever. That's laughable.
There's no inferiority complex like you have w/ the Jets. I tip my cap to Eli, he was excellent in postseason but I'm not going to lie and pretend he's elite. He doesn't stack up to the true elite QBs. To be elite you have to be great most of the time, he's NEVER had a great season and he's had 2 very good/great postseasons. That doesn't make someone elite.
