Settle in Boys, Settle In...

I love you my dude, but that's a pipe dream.

The list of teams who have won SB's with a QB on the high-end market value is nearly non existent.

We are about to lose impact starts all over the place and are hemoraging cap space.

1+1 does not equal 3.
Are you sure about that? Looking at the last ten Super Bowl winners and I see a lot of guys that make a lot of money. Mahomes, Stafford, Brady, Manning...not cheap. I guess you have Nick Files up in there though.

The mass exodus of talent is among us.

The discarded scraps we will sign as to not impact the comp pick formula will not uplift this tattered and torn roster.

Backing up the Brinks truck for an injury prone limited QB who can't hide roster deficiencies is the kiss of death.

We had a two year window to make a run, we won zero playoff games.

But hey, at least the soft ass players who quit on the team and let Will Levis ruin the season all get the VIP #1 rated treatment.

What do we the fans get?

Settle in, this regime by this time next year will be looking for work...

I guess when you talk about a "mass exodus of talent"; you aren't including yourself. - LOL

Why??? - LOL

Free agency is irrelevant, Grier won't do anything to tarnish his comp picks from Wilkins and Hunt.

So your talking about discarded scraps like a Jonnu Smith or low end trades.

Unless we are drafting 5 starting defenders and three starting offensive lineman I fail to see how this zero playoff win roster will be improved.

Edit:

PS, I'll stop ranting, noted.

Let us "prey". - LOL

I want to be upset but it’s not like we’re breaking up a winning defense.

Outside of a single superb 2020 season under Flores, the defense has ranked average to ass under Wilkins, Ogbah, Baker, and X.

I’m more worried about both Edges rehabbing major injuries than the player losses… ya it’s going to be a rough 2024.
Yea Wilkins isn't at the top of my Worried Shitless List...

#1 - Oline - I'm a realist and realize we're not gonna be able to keep everyone at this position group but if we can resign Wynn, Jones, Lamm and one of Hunt or Williams I'll be thrilled. We would really only need 2 more Olinemen and we should be ok at this group.

#2 - If I didn't just spend all our money I'd like to resign AVG

#3 - Overall Depth - I'd much rather us get 5 or 6 guys we can take a gamble on then making a big move like trading and giving the Brinks truck to Sneed or siging Patrick Queen who's gonna get paid way more than he is worth. There is a reason the Ravens are letting him go, think about it, the RAVENS of all teams don't let great linebackers walk. Queen is a solid player but he is not worth a mega deal, he's largely a product of that amazing supporting cast and scheme in Baltimore.

#4 - Tight End/WR3 - We need another weapon to go along with 🐆 & 🐧 more than we need to worry about over paying a hybrid D-Linemen who's averaged 6 sacks a season.

#5 - D-line - we need to get cheap depth here and we need alot of it. 2 DTs and at least one DE.

#6 - Corner - I LOATH this position group. I feel like it shares a rather large portion of the blame for how bad our franchise has performed over the last decade. We have WASTED so much money and so many draft picks on this position group over the last 10 years and its just utterly failed. I hate corners and I wish we could do what KC has done and actually draft good corners, use them for 4 years and trade them for a mountain of picks. Alass we can't do that or anything as good as the Chiefs so what's the point of talking about it.

With the salary cap and all it looks tough but we could actually come out of this with a better team

Let's hope for that
I agree.

I anticipate that we will end up with better depth including a few surprises from some of our current players who didn't make the field last year.

After looking at the new defensive coaches and our new defensive coaching structure we will be using this season, I can see some real surprises from the defense. I hope that they will be good surprises.

Overall, I see this year as a sort of recovery year where we get more complete as a team. I still expect us to make the playoffs and to advance in the playoffs.

My outlook

I don't think it is uncalled for, a lot of us have been fans of the Phins since the '70s, I am one.

We are just frustrated at the direction of team, I mean just a couple of years ago, we had all these draft picks for which to build a foundation of a strong team. A team to finally end the playoff win drought, but somewhere along the way it got botched. Chris Grier whiffing on his draft picks and the owner causing us to lose a high-profile pick because of Tom Brady.

Chris Grier in order to, over compensate for his misses brought in these high priced oft-injured free agents to win now.

When has that approach ever even succeeded? As I mentioned earlier, it didn't work for the 1995 team.

I and others are frustrated with no playoff wins in 24 years, and the arrogance of Chris Grier to say the OL and RB position were fine.

We had opportunities to draft some good backs and lineman, only for Grier to pass them by.

A successful football team starts with the trenches, a concept this GM doesn't get.

Blah, blah and more negative blah.

I can predict the posts that I will see from the "Lemmings" if we:

1) Make the playoffs! ==> Yeah, but we didn't win the division.

2) Win the division but lose our 1st playoff game! ==> We are not ever getting any better.

3) We win the division but don't get to the Superbowl! ==> We will always stink.

4) We get into the Superbowl and lose. ==> We still stink and will never win a Superbowl.

5) We win the Superbowl. ==> We were just lucky; and it will never happen again.

Bah, humbug!

Shouldn't that be 1-3 is less than zero. - LOL
