So why are quality orgs like the Giants and NE wasting time with him?

if we did bring mckinnie back it would be after the draft and they see how it plays out for them imo barring a one year vet minimum thing where we can just bring him to camp and walk away if we want...but i would be more inclined as the swing tackle than a starter...it's possible he was as stiff as he was late in the season cause of that knee injury he played thru but man he does not get to much in space any more
bottom line is we are running out of options...hickey wake up and go check into michael ohers market...he's young in his prime not some stop gap or camp invite crap and he's still a good athlete...may be quite motivated if given a low deal...that would be the guy i'd go after not streif and his inflated pass pro numbers cause brees works the pocket like a magician but a michael oher to play right tackle

It looks like they aren't wasting their time with him. He hasn't been offered any contracts as far as I know.

Even if Martin isnt there this is the deepest OL draft in years and you can get a guy in the third round and it would be like an early second round guy last year. I would give Mckinnie a cheap 1 year deal nothing guaranteed and have him as a backup just to have decent depth if anything happens.
The Rams seem to be letting their players test the market.
Have to agree with that. As thin as we are at CB, we cant match a $2.6 million a year offer to Carroll? Seems really bizarre considering we have no starting CB at the moment

I think they did "waste their time" by meeting with him. You do not see Tyson Clabo or John Jerry going for visits.

Shelly only started 3 games for the Rams last year according to the stats. 6 penalties and allowed 3 sacks.
They say he's a solid run blocker but must improve in pass protection.
Our O line coach had him one year at Houston so he should know what the upside is.
