Sherman is 'Running' the team

Its been 18 months since Hard Knocks aired, but it sure as hell didn't look like Sherman was running practices, meeting with leadership council, or in those personnel meetings with Ireland. Philbin probably gets a lot of input from his coordinators, but I seriously doubt he lets them walk all over him as the OP suggests.

Okay. I guess we will only post things here AFTER they happen. No predictions or conjecture. This should be a good forum...

IF it comes to pass that Aponte does get more responsibility and Joe sticks and gets more apparent power, you can send me a "yeah, you correct post."

You are just bitter from Week 17 when I told you the Fins would play small and Jets free and easy...yet you told me I was wrong and negative...blah, blah, blah. Maybe I am right on this one too?

Its the fact that you post stuff as fact when you have no evidence. So where is your proof that Aponte is going to give Philbin more power?

I think it's more likely that Philbin is hands off the offense and Sherman runs it entirely, but I don't believe for a second he ran the entire team.

To me Joe's biggest sin this season has been being hands off of the offense.

ever hear the saying about blind squirrels and nuts?

I said months ago that Philbin putting his first biggest decision in Sherman's hands (Ryan Tannehill) was a suspect move. Philbin knew his fate was in the QB pick and he let Sherman make the pick. Lets face it Rayn is Sherman's boy. The comment that started the thread was bound to be made sooner or later. Regardless of whether RT is the right guy or not, it is not right from a management point of view..

This is hilarious. Final say on personnel went from Parcells right to the offensive coordinator? Poor Ireland is just an innocent bystander held hostage for 6 seasons, first by the guy above him and now by the staff of his staff....You guys are just getting foolish with the reaches now.

Everything being discussed is conjecture. Even those close to, but outside the organization don't know what is going to happen. I think that in the end there will be no changes which is far better than only changing a small portion. If Ross is so unsure of what to do then you bring them all back and give them 1 year to get it right. If they don't, clean house in 2015.

Why is it that fans can assume things about Jeff Ireland like it was ALL his idea to jettison Bush, Long, Dansby and Burnett and that Philbin had nothing to little to do with it, but when something like this comes out from actual writer, Philbin backers say, "I highly doubt this is true"?

Well an actual writer said Philbin wanted Incognito cut and was denied, so what does that tell you?

It is amazing how a article, with no basis of fact....essentially a rumor....can work so many people up into a frenzy.

I saw no indication that Sherman is running the show. The idea that because Philbin doesn't carry a playsheet that this validates the story is absurd....

Lets let things play out and see what happens.

What does Sherman is running the team mean? Is he picking the players? is he making the decisions? Is he picking the 48 players on game day? This sounds like bull**** to me, probably a reporter starting trouble......I really would like to know what his definition of he is running the team is......

drive by media---rush limbaugh.

guy is talking to beasley who has nothing to do with the dolphins, or some player leaks out their flippant opinion, and the media guy runs with it. shoots. kills. found to be wrong later, doesnt matter, fits the agenda, template.

I don't buy that either, in fact Sherman is quoted as saying Philbin told him to stop running so much into pass friendly defenses. Joe Philbin may not be designing plays but the offense we're running is philosophically his, for better or for worse.

name one thing Philbin does well!! just one. lol

This is the same offense run by Ryan Tannehill at aTm. Chambers is correct in Philbin being hands off and it is going to bite him in the ass in the long run.

what I think is happening is that Joe's hands are tied when Sherman says the running game is crap. Joe wants to run the ball, but the running game is crap. The Oline was crap, and then got less crappier.

but still crap.
