Should Fins take a chance on Tebow?

If Denver releases him, then yes I would pick him up... He could definately come in on goal line situations and be a significant weapon... He gets a lot of negative press for his personal beliefs and that is very unfortunate... He is a hard working kid and would be a great third option or even backup (if he earned it).

Im not disagreeing with that aspect of the thought. But here lies the rub. Who is every fans favorite player (especially on FH).... the backup quarterback. Tim Tebow would be the distraction of all distractions. He can't just lay there quietly and play a few special packages... its just not possible. His drive and goal is to be the face of a franchise... and he has the same following as Jesus did in his hayday lol.

The guy has a following like no other player has, and people will be calling him to do things that frankly I don't think he can ever deliver on. But the idea that Tim Tebow just comes in and plays a few small roles and Tebowmania just goes away.... never going to happen.

You are 100% correct on that and it is a concern I have. This is just an idea I through out and wanted to hear what people thought, the bonus Denver gave Tebow will make it very hard for them to get rid of him.

No way I trade for him but if he's cut, it's really a no brainer. I like Moore but behind him is no one. Tebow would be a nice developmental project that has a great attitude, work ethic and positive character no matter the circumstances. He exudes leadership and winning, far more then you could hope for from a part time player.

The truth is and you all know it, this is the exact kind of PR/business move Ross would make. He has the #1 jersey in sales, obviously a lot of fans in Florida, someone Ross would hope would help fill the seats. None of the BS celebrity ownership is close to the impact this could have in Ross' mind.

If the Broncos do release Tebow and the Dolphins don't at least take a look, I'd be disappointed.

What I like about Tebow running the Wildcat is you all of a sudden have an extra blocker, its a big mismatch, especially in Goal Line situations.

Im not hurt about anything, its just unreal you immediately bring up the he sucks crap every time a topic is presented on the site.
I'm not X-Pac. :chuckle: There are lots of things I like about our team. I feel our D has definate top-5 potential this year. I really like the addition of Reggie Bush. Hell, I've even spent a good bit of time defending Hartline & Fasano on here.

I think a kid could come up with more valid points.
I think a kid could do just as good a job of regurgitating tweets, so I guess we're even.

I never said I wanted Tebow to come in here and start over Henne. If he were to be released signing him and having him compete against Moore would bring some depth and compitition to the QB position.
Depth? I guess.
Competition? I disagree.

You then create packages for Tebow, and use him for short yardage and goal line situations. It will give teams something else to game plan for and nice weapon on our team. And lets be honest who ever has followed this the Tebow situation in Denver knows that the Broncos are really pushing out Tebow. Check his stats, watch his play last year, he is not as bad as some of you are putting him to be.
-I'm not in favor of paying Tebow to run the wildcat.
-And, if Denver was pushing him out this year, why in the world would they have paid him the roster bonus?
-I did see him play last year. Like I said, vastly overrated. He's an inaccurate passer.

What would you rather have Henne, Moore, Unknown or Henne, Tebow, Moore.
Seeing as how I'm currently resigned to the fact that we're saddled with Henne for another year ...
It's:
1) Henne
2) Moore (IMO currently better than Tebow)
3) Devlin (IMO better QB prospect than Tebow)

***** Next year, we'd better draft a frigging QB *****

A plausible short-term outcome in this scenario:
Say we did bring him in and his is utilized in small roles here and there, performs well and produces winning results for a year. His value raises and our GM would have a shiny new bargaining chip on the table at some point. Later if Tebowmania outgrows the Fins needs, why not trade at some point down the line? What did we give up for a back up qb in A.J. Feeley way back? A 2nd rounder, and I'm all for recouping that at some point.

My point is, a Tebow would have more opportunities on gameday in small roles on the field than any of our back up qb's would ever, thus would garner more value as a team asset (both for game day player production and for a possible future trade asset).

 Oh. Why didn't you just say that in the first place?

Oh yeah, you did say that in the first place. Then you got mad at some of us when we didn't like the idea.

Although I wouldn't bring in a wildcat qb (remember Pat White), I don't think its the worse idea. We could use help at QB an if he is released, why not? With that being said he's not going anywhere.

What I get from the Tebow, Pryor, and anyone else that can throw a football should be traded to the Dolphins threads is that we really need to make a move at QB. Delvin is practice squad material and O Connel should be selling cars. Moore is a back up at best and Henne could be decent to possibly a backup himself. I think we could use a QB.

The people that hate Tebow don't hate him b.c he's a terrible football player. They hate him for other reasons.

Tebow is a throwback football player. Is he a great QB? No. Not yet at least. But is he a terrible football player? Heck no. He's a stone cold football warrior. He's a leader -- and HUMBLE. The opposite of a locker room cancer.

If I were a GM and coach, I'd love Tebow on my team even if he never did play the QB position at a high level. He garners, gives and engenders R-E-S-P-E-C-T and team ethos. Priceless, to anyone who has coached or led men, say in military or high stress/risk positions.

I wouldn't mind bringing him in just for Wildcat packages (that is if we're even planning on running the wildcat), the only problem with that though is he is such a charismatic guy that he might just weasel his way into the starter position.

If the Jags want to stay in Alltel and sellout Alltel, they better trade/sign Timmah!

Come on man. You are better than that.

Tebow belongs in a church somewhere, where his throwing style is better served flipping the pages of the bible than an NFL football.

I totally disagree! :caveman::loser:

I would love to see Tebow become a Dolphin! Tebow is a good athlete and an outstanding character guy. I don't understand how people can be so rude toward the guy.

With all that is coming out on Tebow, I remain firm in my thoughts that Miami should give him a try, if he is released or traded.
