Should the Dolphins trade for Ryan Ramczyk?

If they win another Super Bowl, it'll be worth it, but if they don't... they are playing with fire.

This years Bills look like last years Chiefs. Just toying with the opposition for a quarter and then going for the jugular. I think the Chiefs are kind of satisfied for now. It’s hard to be fat and happy and defend the throne.

For now, I think they are OK... but in the long run, when you give a large % of your cap to a total of 4 or 5 players, then you end up with very little behind those 4 or 5 players.

Check out where they are now with cap numbers: (2021)

Frank Clark 26 mil
Mahommes 25 Mil
Chris Jones 22 mil
Tyrann Matheiu 20 Mil
Tyreek Hill 16 Mil
Eric Fisher 15 mil

124 million of the 175 million total and 4 of those numbers are even worse in 2022, and Mathieu and Fisher becoming Free Agents, and the other four accounting for 100 million all by themselves.

They have a LOT of their cap invested in very few players... if they win, great... but if they don't; it may get ugly quickly.

An enormously important point to acknowledge is the Dolphins cap room in 2022 could be huge.

It doesn't clear much cap to cut any of our under-performing vets this year, but next year Ereck Flowers,Shaq Lawson,Bobby McCain, and perhaps Kyle Vanoy as well due to age more than poor play, could be released resulting in an additional 37 mil on top of an already projected 88 mil cap surplus. That's around 125 mil.

Yes, Ogbah and others and any guys we add this year will bring that down, but it it will still be a huge number.

This gives the FO great flexibility to take on future contracts.

WOW

If they could snag Ryan

Imagine, Ramczyk RT...Sewell LT ...Creed Humphrey C....Hunt RG Kindly LG....( Jackson competing for G )

Tua and WR's with twice the time and actual holes for our RB. Thats not even thinking about the addition of WR & RB upgrade.......

Tyrran Mathieu is as good as traded. He clears the most cap for them. They can draft the position.

The contracts that Grier handed out last offseason were all geared to be 2 year contracts with easy-outs. It was masterful cap work; some of the best that I've ever seen.

As far as the Packers and Corey Linsley goes; they had a decision to make and they already made it when they signed Bahktiari to that monster deal in December.

The Packers aren't handing out any more deals and are probably going to have make some cuts the way it is to get under the cap. Corey Linsley will hit free agency.

As will Aaron Jones.

Be shocked if Linsley goes. He's just to critical for the packers to let go....IMO

Love him, he'll be 30 in July but he's special. or Ramczyck whose 25

I love the idea, I envision a Ron Heller type. Toughness.
What would it take for draft picks to get him?

Dinsdale

(name that reference)
Just a guess...

Monty Python's Flying Circus: A sketch about the Ministry of Silly Walks; a British minister attired in a pink tulle dress talks about housing on "Face the Press"; 30 gas-company men investigate the installation of a stove; a giant hedgehog wanders London

>>> side note >>> hedgehogs make cute pets but suffer from notorious B.O.

Your Googling skills are impressive, but it was from the Piranha Brothers sketch where Dinsdale Piranha believed he was being pursued by a giant hedgehog named Spiny Norman.
