Should Xavien be traded for draft capital?

I'll restate my position for those in the cheap seats...

If Grier/Flores...or whatever combination would pull the trigger that would move Howard for a pick or two, on the cusp of us becoming a good team...fukc boaffum. That an acceptable Dolphins fan method of keeping your job. Trade your horses and cite player developmentin the midst of three to four 8-9 win seasons.

If X is injured playing football I am pretty sure he will get all of his money. Guaranteed money covers him if he gets hurt elsewhere, like an auto accident.

Xavien Howard signed a five year, $75.25 million extension with the Dolphins on May 9, 2019. All contract details come via a report from PFT so please credit them if using these numbers. Howard received $27.18 million fully guaranteed at signing and $46 million in total guarantees. The full guarantee is made up of Howard's 2019 and 2020 base salaries, a $7 million 2019 roster bonus, and a $7 million signing bonus. If Howard is on the roster on the 5th day of the 2020 league year he will have his 2021 salary fully guaranteed. (and he was) There is a $6.775 million injury only guarantee in 2021. In the final three years of the contract Howard can earn up to $500,000 in annual per game bonuses.​
