Sinnett looked awesome!

He really did. Moved around well, found open receivers. I know it was against second and third team players, but that's what he was working with as well.

Hopefully, he makes it to the practice squad. Hard to imagine Miami keeping three quarterbacks.

I wonder if the FO, knowing they were going to cut him regardless, gave him the full game as a shop window to help him get picked up. Teams sometimes do that. If so, he certainly took his opportunity.

If they want him on the PS, they'll have their work cut out i think.

Finally! Felt good seeing a Dolphin QB winging the ball deep for TDs! Nothing like seeing the ball launched like that, been too long, was fun to watch!
Unfortunately the Dolphins won’t be playing against future McDonald workers once the season begins.
Sinnett played well against 3rd and 4th team defenders who won’t be in the league beyond 4:00 pm tomorrow and Sinnett will be on the practice squad nice again.

I think he might make the team...

They aren’t keeping three QB’s on the finale roster, IMO. He isn’t better than Tua or Brissett and therefore I don’t see him making the final 53. At best he will be on their PS if another team doesn’t decide to pick him up on waivers to be their potential backup QB.

had the same thought, he definitely seized the opportunity

If so, he crushed it. He was slinging perfectly thrown bombs into coverage.

Doaks, looked frickin awesome too. Seemed like Everytime he touched the ball he ran for 10 yards

You do realize he threw perfect bombs into coverage? Guessing you didn't watch the game. He also wasn't throwing to our best receivers. All in all it was fun to watch.

All teams carry at least 3 QBs on their 53 man roster, some have 4.

Pretty much my thoughts, as well.

I thought the positions that might have some actual evaluation value for the final 53 were RB, OL and WR.

I also think Iggy was fighting for his NFL life at this early crossroads in his career. He will still stick this year, but you can see the separation between him and Needham, per se. Needham has definitely solidified his spot on this team. The fact Iggy was knocking down the final throw of the game was very.... very telling. His draft status will keep him secure for this year and next, possibly. But he is clearly a developmental guy that has lost his status and needs to retool his entire approach and skillset. He will get a chance to salvage his value, but I really feel he's on the way out unless something drastic happens this year.

I think Doaks offers enough potential if they want to keep him to lose Brown's salary. Otherwise, it's PS for him. However, I would prefer him over Brown at this point. Doaks has potential but needs work on his receiving and blocking.

Merritt is clearly getting a lot of exposure. His value might be replacing Grant if they can trade him. But I think JG sticks as our return specialist. Somewhere in all of this, I see 3 positional depth pieces vying for one spot; RB, TE and WR. One of those positions will get an extra depth at the expense of the other 2.

Of the pieces we have in play, I think Merritt vs. TE is the real competition. Our RB room is more pedestrian at the bottom. And more easily replaced with a guy off the street.

I think we are still looking for a long term LT prospect to push AJ this year. LT is clearly the OL position that if not found with pieces we currently have, will be one of if not the top draft need next year. I think they would like to find our long term starter in this group. However, they appear to be somewhat vested in AJ but his performance last year is their expectations floor with hopes of finding more. The way I see it, if AJ doesn't improve he is the long term backup. Can one of these guys not named Jesse Davis become our answer at LT?

For sure they prefer their own drafted players. Any position battles between a low rent FA and our own pick, our guy wins.

Agree. He had his opportunity and took it. He had a great game. Can't ask for much more than that.

No... not in today's NFL.

Most teams 3rd QBs are carried on the Practice squad, indeed, this is exactly what we did last year.

Very few teams carry 3 active QBs these days.
