So tired of reading on here about how we are good at WR

We can upgrade that later. We need the next Fitzgerald, Megatron. They don't come around very year. OL we can get later.

I agree, they don't come around every year. This year is a good example. Mike Evans and Sammy Watkins are good, but they are not generational prospects.

So tired of reading on here about how we are good at WR and we need OL with the top picks of the draft. I don't argue with the fact our OL sucked last year.
However I'm tired of us frafting OL, LB, and DB's with 90% of our picks. Where has that got us? I'm tired of mediocrity. I want the days of Marino and Shula back where teams feared out passing game. This league has evolved into a passing league. I want some excite back.

Now is the time. Players like Evans or Watkins don't come around too often. We can build our OL later in the draft or through FA after the draft when players start getting cut. We can get bye, but in the meantime we have another threat at WR to pair with Wallace. Nobody is afraid of Hartline or Gibson taking it to the house.

We need to put points on the scoreboard. We need TD's.

What we need is someone that can be a premium pass-catching receiver, block well when needed, and yes TDs, so maybe we go TE instead of receiver, because sorry to tell you, we are pretty much set at reciever (or at least will not get better talent when we draft then what we have in our top 4 receivers).

In the 1st, I would have no problem going O-linemen, TE, LB, or Safety....would not be very happy with WR though.

Honestly I'm not overly concerned about what position is drafted, I just wanted a bonafide playmaker with the potential to be E L I T E, in other words BEST MUTHA ****ING PLAYER AVAILABLE, it would be a nice change from the last 20 or so drafts.

They did do pretty well with Hartline via the draft.

It is this kind of thinking I'm getting tired of.
How do you figure in he has gotten 10 TD's this is a 2 TD average a year. We need someone that can get 10+ TD's a year. Hartline is nothing more then a possession receiver.
Scoreboard. I reiterate we need play makers that can put points on the board.
These are not the days of Ricky where we can run it all day, and get lucky with a passing TD not and then because they are loading the box. We need TD machines in the passing game.

Obviously not that tired if you continue reading. The solution is simple really...

But if you're not too exhausted yet, the game is won and lost in the trenches.

We can use next years draft for a top tightend or receiver... No need to draft a player that will at best be a 5th string guy. Nobody from this draft not named Evans or Watkins is going to out play Matthews or Gibson. It's just a waste of a pick imo. Draft the need of OL, RB and LB for this year and next year we can afford to go BPA the entire draft.

I can't argue that... Let's hope Hickey feels the same way..

Still more Superbowl appearances and playoff victories than Jake Long, Joe Thomas, Trent Williams, Tyron Smith, and Matt Kalil. Guess that means nobody should ever draft a lineman high?

If you are going to spend a high draft pick on a lineman(which i dont support), then it should be on a left tackle. Ignoring the fact that there probably wont be a left tackle available for us at 19, we just spent $46 million on that position.
Contrary to the myth this website is currently spreading as quickly as possible: the draft isnt there to fix needs. Its there to get talented players. Because teams will always need talented players. Common sense dictates that selecting talented players at impact positions is a lot more valuable then grabbing talented players at positions that rarely make a difference. As well, its been proven over and over again that you can find competent lineman later in the draft.

How many wins did Jake Long get us? How many wins has Mike Pouncey secured for us? We've spent the 1st overall pick, the 15th overall pick, a second round pick, 2 third round picks, a fourth round pick, a sixth round pick, and traded a late round pick for another lineman(and all of this ignores the +$100 million we've spent on free agents) and people still havent learned the lesson yet. We use up all our resources on that position group, run out on the field with former 4th round picks at receiver/tight end, and fans are baffled at why we average 17 points a game. We need playmakers at playmaking positions and the best way to get said playmakers is by grabbing the most talented players we can.
If these linemen don't lead to wins, do you think the line last year led to any losses?

Yeah and how has that worked for our qb who will be in his 3rd year. In which many think is the year a player breaks out. Only way that happens for Tannenhill is if he stays healthy and off his back! Our wideouts while I too would like to see someone to help out Wallace. Its not as big of a priority! They are serviceable at WR right now! We can draft another good wideout next year!

Translation: I hope Tannehill gets murdered again so that he can't even get the ball to his shiny new toys

Good GMs can find starting quality OL in the mid and late rounds. You don't need all stars at every position to have a good line.

Miami's only used three first round picks on offensive linemen in the past 15 years, Vernon Carey, Jake Long and Mike Pouncey, each of whom made the Pro Bowl. Ronnie Brown is the only other Dolphin first round pick to make the Pro Bowl during that period. Drafting so called play makers is not a sure thing and comes with just as much risk as drafting O-linemen. The Lions have drafted a crap load of quarterbacks, running backs, receivers & tight ends and their record has been even worse.
