So, was I really that negative...or am I right?

Does the name Carolina Panthers mean anything to you? They ran the ball more often on first down than Miami last year. They played a conservative offense and good defense and........WENT TO THE SB.

How about the Baltimore Ravens? Ring a bell? same style WON THE SB and are considered a contender again this year with......a great defense and a conservative offense led by a young QB.

But your right, it obviously can't be done.....
:shakeno:

While I respect your opinion, the difference between the Dolphins and the Panthers and Ravens is that both of those teams went through down years and both saw a big rebuilding process before they went to the Super Bowl. Its not being conservative that bothers me so much its the playing scared part that does. Under Dave, the Dolphins have lost more of the "big games" then they have won. The best example of why Dave will never lead the Dolphins to the Super Bowl was painfully obvious yesterday.
He started Jay Fiedler instead of going with AJ. He could not seperate himself from Jay. Benching him later was great, but it already has shown the fan base that Dave will not be a Super Bowl coach. Ever.
This version of the Dolphins are dead in the water.

Dumbest ****** thread I've ever seen.

Do you actually ***** think you know ANYTHING more than anyone else. NO. You just cry and run your gator more than anybody else.

It's called SPILT MILK fin-atic, once decisions are made you either accept them and move on or you whine and cry a carry on about until you make everybody ***** sick with your insipid redundant rants

EVERYONE knew retaining Wanny was a bad idea....but only a few thought their incessant crying about it would change anything....NONE moreso than you.

EVERYONE knew the line was going to be a HUGE question mark but, MOST choose to look for positives rather than whine and cry and complain about things that were out of our control....

Not you fin-atic, you made sure to remind everyone daily WHAT THEY ALREADY KNEW....and then act like you're some sort of genius when the obvious occurs.

I can't believe that you don't *****get it.

You're no smarter than anyone here you're just weaker. Get over yourself *******.

I'll tell you what Fin-Atic and other foul weather, boo bird fans are. They are a bunch of losers sitting behind their computer screens and TV screens watching and waiting, like vultures, to jump on the fallen (in their warped opinion) to proclaim victory at the first mistake, to wave their hater flag of disgust over others hopes and dreams. Calling themselves "realists" when their reality is a bizarro world where you look for the negative in people, and see positives as inconsequential to their main goal- to spread their hate and negativity and bring others to their level. Well, here I am on the haters level spewing my opinion like it was golden, and pissing on their black parade.

I go to a few Dolphin messageboards, and it's always, ALWAYS the same. The haters come out in force when the Dolphins play poorly (is there anyone denying that they played poorly yesterday? I didn't think so), or if the media (Espn, NFL.com, Herald, Sun Sentinel) say Miami got the wrong end of a deal- here they come- first to post their triumph over good. Ready made excuses they have packed away for just this moment. The only good that will come of this, is that next week, if Miami plays well, and wins, the haters will be gone, for a week. But they will be waiting, they always are, digging in, devouring the praise and well wishers and digesting it into hate and misery. Just watch.

Its only one game. Nothing more and nothing less. We may get better or we may not. But it does prove one thing. Maybe, just maybe, before all you homers jump me and others for being "negative" and calling us "bad fans", maybe it has nothing to do with being a fan of the Fins. It has to do with being a fan of the game and knowing the game well enough to be objective and see the trouble. As of game one everything I said:

-Wanny shold have been fired
-Fiedler is not the answer and should have been cut.
-AJ is better, but unproven and green because he has only been a backup
-Gordon may be okay but he is not dominant.
-This team failed to improve its primary needs for two years running, QB and OLine
- And Wanny was making a huge mistake by not naming starters because they could not get any cohesion.

And all through it I stressed that I AM a fan and I just want the team to be successful. What I saw today (I was there...thanks Phinphreak!) was one of the most embarrassing Dolphin teams ever.

I do like AJ better than Fiedler. But if this line doesn't block better, and we can't run then it will be irrelelvant. Because it takes a special QB to carry a team. AJ may be decent, but he is not special.

Lets hope this is the bottom and it goes up from here. I wonder if any of you homers (you know who you are!) are man enough to show up and say "we were wrong!" :shakeno:

God please let this team find itself.

i agree with you 100%. however i think the jury is still out on gordon. chances are he won't be dominant but hasn't been given enough of a chance. the qb and o line issues have been addressed, they just take time to gel and get experience. i think rick will add more talent to the oline next offseason.

but i've been saying this all year that way to many people have their head in the clouds. this just won't be our year. 5-11 or 6-10 here we come. you people who don't think so are outta your mind. we don't have the coaching staff in place that will "surprise" the critics. we are as predictable as our offensive play calling.

Fin-atic, I've read your posts. It's not that you are being realistic, or even that you may be right that makes the "homers" on this board attack you. It's the fact that you never have anything good to say. You are always negative.

Take Lamar Gordon... you say he isn't dominant. How do you know? You've watched him in one game. He's better then you think.

AJ Feeley, you say he isn't anything special. How do you know? How long did it take for Rich Gannon to come into his own? Grant it, we don't have years to waste on this guy to get his head straight, but at least have an open mind.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Dolphins will struggle to reach 8-8. However, I'm excited by Gordon, by AJ, and the possibility that oline can gell, and we could possibly exceed 10-5.

It's not your realism that wears us "homers" down, it's your consistently painful pessimistic point of view when there are alternative more optimistic perspectives that are equally realistic.
Well said.

Right now.. there really is nothing to say thats positive...

The O-line sucked.. Wanny totally f*cked up starting Jay.. The team couldnt run the ball.. The defense gave up almost 200 yards on the ground.. Mare missed.. Only two cities was able to watch the game... and a damn hurricane is looming..

But the scoreboard was looking good.. wasnt it? ok everybody.. only talk about the scoreboard..
They couldn't run the ball?!?!? They ran well when they did. Tennesee dominated them early on in TOP and they did run the ball against one of the best run stopping D's in the league.

Good running on one drive ended with Fiedler throwin a pick. If the running game had no spark, I mean nothing at all then I'd agree. The passing game was the killer, don't blame the running game.

these thrreads suck ...... BOoooooooooooooooo.

You're saying the obvious, it's not anything new..

Gordon not dominat? THe fu*k????? How many carries did he get?? U expect him to bust a 30 yr run on the first carry? Gimmie a break ..

Yeh, Apprantly the "Realistic" negative fans have more knowledge of the game and are much smarter then fans that try and stay positive or believe something good can come out of this season.

I'm with inFINSible on this one.......GET OVER YOURSELF!

I also love how because ONE GUY SUCKS (Jay Fiedler) that now the whole team sucks and we are in a rebuilding year.

Great post.

Fin-atic, I agree with every point you have made. However, your using kid gloves. I'll take it a step further. This franchise is headed towards disaster the next 2-3 years. We have a makeshift offensive line and very few draft picks to play with (not like it makes such a difference, we haven't had a solid draft since JJ was in charge). We are in rebuilding mode, I won't be suprised if we finish this year 6-10 and get worse for the next 2-3 years. The transformation of Miami to a Chicago type team under Wanny is underway. Very tough times are ahead of us.

There is a difference between being hopeful and optomistic and not agreeing with every move the team makes. It doesn't mean we know any better, someties one side will be right, sometimes they won't. I think the reason Fin comes on here and says I told you so is because of all the crap he takes when he voices his opinion. It's a natural reaction after that abuse that you want to say I told you so.

I am sure the Cards and Chargers are hopeful and optomistic too this season and if they posted that they thought they were going to the SB this year they would be laughed right off this board.

As I said answer the question, If the Fins uniforms suddenly became a Bills uniofoem what would you be saying about them at this point? Be honest.

LOL, I have been a fan since 1983, don't elevate yourself to something your not. I love the Dolphins as much as anyone here and will cheer for them if they have a great year or a horrible year. In fact I HOPE I AM PROVEN WRONG. I will suck it up and admit that I was wrong if we have a great year. I doubt you would do the same if we finish under .500, you would probably try to spin it in a positive way and criticize people that don't agree with you.
