Stopped weed, started steroids

They say once you've had it, it's a lot easier to get it back. I honestly didn't expect Ricky to have any trouble getting back up to his playing weight before he played in his first game in week 6. I didn't even consider it an issue. like him or not, I I don't, he's well rested and will probably be in great shape. He WILL be an asset to the team. I guarentee it.

That's exactly it.... it's called "muscle memory". I knew it wasn't going to take him long to get it back. I figured 3 or 4 months of working out and eating right would get him back around 225 but like someone else has already pointed out.. he has professionals looking over his diet and workout regiments.

Well... I'm about to go to my fantasy football draft. I traded up to pick #5 in the first round (Dynasty League--draft rookies only). It looks like I'm going to miss out on Cedric Benson and Carnell Williams but both Ronnie Brown and J.J. Arrington should be there at #5. I'll probably go with Arrington since our league scoring system is based on yardage for RB's, WR's, & TE's.

He could be using steroids, but by the number of random drug tests a month I dont think Ricky is that stupid. Just have a little faith in him.

I doubt that RW would go near steroids, knowing that he is going to be tested for everything under the sun almost very time he pees for the rest of his career.

man i just have a good feeling that this kid has really changed he was never a bad guy he just made bad desions it's called being young with alot of money.as far as him being ripped up ricky has always been ripped the guy is a workout freak he might have lost some wait but as soon as you start working out again you gain all back im talking from experience. :D

Well, considering the fact he is an instructor in holistic medicine(Which forbids drugs), and that he hasnt gained a shocking amount of weight for a professional athelete... I'd say no.

Also, Ricky is in the testing program.....so its doubtful he would be juicing.

However, the holistic medicine reason is not valid. First, Ricky isnt an instructor in holistic medicine...just a student and if he ever heals anyone, a "holistic healer". Second, Ricky smoked weed during his studies at the "school". The instructors there urged him for quite some time to quit all addictive behavior. He finally did, but amazingly at about the same time he began talking about returning to the NFL. Some coincidence, huh?

Ok Everyone...

One player saw Ricky in the elevator of the team headquarters and said that his muscles were looking like the incredible hulk. Could it be steroids this time?

1 month ago he was without any flesh or muscles, 2 weeks ago he became skinny, and now he is ripped .....Do you think it's because he knows his astro-body well or he is using some sorts or steroids to help him out...I'm surprised that he allready gained 35 pounds in 1 month (from 195 to 230) and myself I can eat an entire cow and not gain 1 pound. Ummmm Fishy....QUOTE]

This is absolutely ridiculous!!!!! Bench, I hope we never see you on here complaining about how the media is always down on the Phins or how we "can't get anything positive about our team" If a man is skinny, he's smoking weed. If he's in shape and muscular, he must be on steroids. Instead of LOOKING for something to be wrong why don't we just support him as a player on our team until he gives reason to do otherwise. Why don't we just see what he's going to do next week? The closer we get to when we will get to see the facts, the more we start to talk garbage. TC is only a couple days away. We'll know then.

I think we need to stop to be so negative....ans start to support our players.
Amen to that!!! They will feed off of our energy at least on an unconscious level! those of us who are true fans will shut our f**ing mouths and find something constructive to do with our time! Like envisioning positive outcomes, thus helping to bring them into reality!;)

Dude, some of us can gain 35 pounds by looking at a donut! Course, we're not playing RB in the nfl!:)

So far in this thread there's been very little evidence that anybody knows what they're talking about. The "muscle memory poster" and a couple others have it right. Once you've had the muscle it is with the proper protein intake and a workout regimin pretty simple to re-gain the weight.

Steroids are done in cycles and usually put mostly water weight into the muscle fiber. This makes the muscle MUCH more prone for tears and trauma for an athlete in a contact sport. Anybody that put on water weight through a 6-week cycle would lose the bulk of it just from running around in two-a -days. All the while running the risk of tearing a thigh, groin or hamstring that would take 4-6 weeks to recover. No, this weight gain (if true) is all natural and probably influenced by 40-60 grams or more of protein per day (based on his activity) and perhaps an amino intake program and most likely some holistic mumbo-jumbo that may or may not have some impact. My concern would not be on if the muscle is natural, but if he's in RUNNING shape! That's where we'll see if he's ready. The old adage: Fatigue makes cowards of us all" could come into play here.

And by the way the posters noting the extra- scrutiny on his system are equally right.

Once you have had that muscle structure and apply yourself, you can get back into that body a lot quicker than any of us can get into it. Remember that he has been working with the same nutritionist who got him to drop more than 20 lbs. and improve his athleticism as soon as he got here.

Great point, he is different than the average person. He is physicallly gifted, that is why he is a professional athlete.

P.S . David Bowens and Ronald Flemons will surprise in camp...

I'll tell you this. Athletes as talented as Ricky usually have bodies that respond very quickly and effective to training. That is really the basis for "talent" how you respond to training. Ricky probably responds very well to training. Not to mention the wholesitic approach which forbids foreign substances in your body.

I dont think its that negative, had this been David Boston putting on 25 pounds in a month and looking more ripped there would be 100 threads about how he was juicing. But because its Ricky and so many people have "Ricky Fever" they dismiss it. I despise Ricky Williams and want him nowhere near the Dolphins, and will continue to feel this way until he is gone. So please dont tell people to support him, just accept that they have a different opinion.

You despise rickey williams but probably have a McMichael jersey in your closet....

We don't know if he actually weighs 230. The player quoted just said he looked 230. But it wouldn't suprise me if he was a ripped 220 right now. He's paying a lot of money to some really smart people to get him to where he needs to be.

There was an interview on NFL network last night with Ricky's agent, and he said that Ricky was about 215 now...I hope Ricky isn't stupid enough to take steroids! lol..:D

Before he got down to 225-230 for his last season in Miami, he had always played heavier, generally around 240 w/ the Saints. His natural carrying weight with working out and eating normally was probably about 240 or higher since it required effort for him to get down to the 225-230 range. Remember how everyone was saying that he had trimmed down and was in the best shape of his life? I think the 195 that was reported was an anomaly sp?). If you stop working out, you don't have the same appetite. Plus, anyone who's spent long stretches of time traveling in 3rd world countries or been on marathon backpacking trips can attest that you will certainly lose weight, even if you're skinny to start with. Ricky shouldn't have any problem getting to weight since he is naturally a thick, heavy guy. What's great to hear is that he's all ripped up. When he lost the weight he probably had very little body fat, and he's probably putting it back on in muscle. Excellent news!
