Sunday Ticket without Directv?

My advice: Sports Bar.

... Then again, I'm a social drunk. YMMV

That's what I do...go to a sport's bar. I have only missed one Phin's game on tv in the past ten years, when we lost 22-0 to Cleveland (2005?), I had way too much tequilla the night before and was puking my guts out that entire Sunday.

To me it wasn't the $200 for the ST but the monthly fees kept going up. When you factor that along with the ST it was over $1200 a year. I just gave mine up this month. I went with the $69 deal on nfl.com.

What do you mean "the monthly fees kept going up"? The package prices? I know my simple package was discontinued and I had to buy a more comprehensive package, but thats been the only increase I have had in 13 years.
In fact, Sunday Ticket is $100 a season less now than it was 10 years ago.

I suggest waiting until madden comes out. Yes the videogame "Madden". Last year (and I believe in prior years as well) they gave a full Sunday ticket sub with the preorder of madden 25. $100 got me the game and the sub then sold the game for $50 on Craigslist and bam, Sunday ticket for fifty bucks. I just went to the website, logged in, and hooked my laptop up to my tv and done. I'm hoping it is like that this year too!

NFL.com game pass, use a proxy to get there from another country and you can watch every game live. Simple as that. Costs much less than sunday ticket and the split screen functionality makes it way better.

They only did that with madden 25. They won't do it this year.

Remember proxies aren't free. A reliable one will cost you 10 bucks a month five or take.

It usually takes til the next morning. You also cannot watch any games while other games are on live tv. So can't watch on Sundays, Monday night, etc... At least that's the way it was two years ago when I had it.

Last year I had sunday ticket via internet (they sold the access with madden 25 collectors edition) but direct didn't have enough bandwidth, which meant the streams were very poor. Several of the games were about the same quality as a illegal streaming site.

That is correct and it is frustrating. Last season I missed the pats game and then was so pissed when I couldn't watch it after work because the damn sunday night game was on!
Edit: I just remembered why I was so pissed! I couldnt DVR the game because it was nationally televised but not in my area, I got Seattle. Then I had sunday ticket which didn't have the replay because it was nationally televised. Then I purchased NFL whatever and still couldnt watch it! This **** has really gotten outta hand!!

Not open for everybody...

There's another big thing you should keep in mind: NFL Sunday Ticket TV isn't available to everyone. Not by a long shot. Officially, DirecTV is saying it's for people "who live in select areas or residence types, or are enrolled in select universities." Translated more plainly, DirecTV is really marketing this to football fans who are unable to install a physical satellite where they live (i.e. those in apartment buildings) or otherwise receive its service. The company has set up an eligibility checker to determine who's allowed in, and I got shot down hard when submitting my family's home address. My apartment on the other hand worked fine, but entering a friend or relative's building won't fool the system. If you need to change your address for billing, you'll have to go through the eligibility process again. Splitting Sunday Ticket with that apartment friend is a perfectly viable solution, though. So there's always that.

They might as well get as many people on board as they can for their last hurrah...Direct TV is toast as soon as their contract with NFL Sunday Ticket ends at the end of the upcoming season.

Um, DirecTV is close to finalizing a new deal with the NFL for the Sunday Ticket. Should be announced the same time DirecTV makes this new streaming service "official"

SO am I correct you still can only get if you're in location that can't get direct tv? Doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

I have heard conflicting reports. Some say everyone can get it. Others are saying what you said. Until DirecTV makes an official announcement none of us will know
