Sunday Ticket without Directv?

So went to purchase Sunday Ticket streaming but it is only offered to certain areas and 10 select colleges.

Luckily for me one of my interns goes to 1 of those schools and used his info to bypass eligibility. It also gave me a $50 discount. So if you know someone this is what you need to do.

I thought about that after the call. IN the end when I told the guy how rude the first guy was he offered me all that other stuff, although I had to sign a two year contract, which by the looks of it DTV is keeping the sunday ticket so I wont be going anywhere in two years anyways.

I also had to sign a two year contract for a move and was eventually given NFL tix. But come January, after the regular season, I'll be breaking that contract. Paying the $350-$400 to break it is A LOT cheaper than paying $1900 (+ $250 for another season of NFL ticket) over two years for TV I never watch. I will definitely be checking out other streaming options as the season goes on to get ready for next year.

The problem I have right now is Directv is fighting with cbs which is what all afc games are on.
I don't have CBS a few days before the first game but directv billed me and didn't tell me crap.
The other aspect means that the bars don't have the games either until this gets worked out. Word of advice, check cbs now in your area if you do pay for Sunday ticket to make sure you have it.

I'm going to try it this year and use not being able to get WWE pay per views as another reason I want to dump direct TV. Just another thing folks can pile on as WWE and DTV are angry with each other so DTV doesn;t carry their PPV events. Whether we like WWE or not is irrelevant, coming off as an avid WWE fan who doesn't want to subscribe to their network could help here.

Why would you want to pay $50 for a ppv when you can get the same product, plus more, for only $9.99 per month on their network?

The cost alone of Wrestlemania alone was filled out over 5 months and we got 4 more pay pet views to boot.

Hint: Direct TV representatives can not give NFL ticket for free. They can/may offer it, but can not approve it. You must talk to their NFL office to receive an approval.

Trick: If you can get said Direct TV representative to offer it via telephone (usually by mistake), then you have it recorded thru your telephone conversation. You can then contact Direct TV's NFL offices, mention the conversation and they will be obligated to give it to you for free (usually by pestering to talk to a supervisor who eventually will grant it to your account).

:brewskis:

I got it for 50% off this year threatening to cancel. First time I have had Sunday Ticket since my freebie install year 7 years ago.

Started off threating to cancel saying I only need redzone and other cable provider is including it free. Directv cannot give redzone without Sunday ticket so I got it for $160 (50% off).

Kept pushing for more discount, and so they gave $5 off each month's bill for 12 months...so basically cost me $100 :woot:

It amazes me that like the iPhone's initial launch being limited to AT&T, the NFL doesn't open their annual Game Pass subscription domestically. It is far superior to the Sunday Ticket which is highly over rated and over priced.

I'm so mad that we can't just stream this year. I loved that we could last year, and this nonsense of only certain cities or universities having access makes little sense to me. You can clearly stream to anywhere so if I'm willing to pay for it, you should allow me to do so.

You are in LI....You don't know anyone who lives in the city or could provide an address?

People dont realize there is an easy solution to NFL Game Pass, get a VPN and set your location to the UK. :)

While I haven't really looked at this option, my gut feeling tells me the NFL doesn't really care about the loop hole. They're still getting the consumers money, plus they're getting paid a boat load by Direct Tv. Direct TV is likely not too happy about it, but there's really not much they can do about it.

Sounds like Sunday Ticket will be offered FREE to anyone who has DirecTV for Week One.
