Sunday Ticket without Directv?

yeah, being in vegas, i'd be all over the casino sports book/bar/etc. Just that this year, i'm stuck in an office for 10 hours on sunday in december. I think i'm going to get the nfl audio, to listen to the game at work, and then nfl rewind, to watch the fins game sunday night, after sunday night football is over.

Exactly. As for beers and food, there are two reasons for the amount I spend. I do a lot of work on Sundays, so I don't drink much, and even if I wanted to, the bars I go to are packed, so rapid fire drinking is tough to pull off unless you are truly dedicated to getting drunk. Personally, I'm too busy watching all the games and talking to friends.

Also, my estimates don't account for food and drinks people have at home while watching with their Sunday Ticket. I'm assuming neither comes free. So, it's certainly more than $200 for Sunday Ticket/home watching.

I don't have a problem with Sunday Ticket, I was merely giving my reasons for having no interest in this new deal despite qualifying for it where I live. Apparently that was offensive to some. Meh.
Yep, that always gets left out of these Sunday ticket or not debates. Usually when I watch at home, I have a few guests over and I always provide and cook the food and beverages, so I am spending a lot more at home compared to just paying my portion of the tab at the bar. Meh, maybe I should go to the bar more often.

I love watching games in Vegas!

beer is expensive here. paying 7 or 8 bucks for a bottle of bud light at a bar. lol I can get more than a 6 pack at walmart for that price!

edit: that's why I don't drink much when I go out to watch the games. lol

It's typically expensive here, but surprisingly, the bars have some of the best specials I've seen anywhere.

hey Gonzo you don't know of any Dolphins bars in Brooklyn do you? Going to the city every time is a bit of a hassle. I live in Bay Ridge

Meh, thanks to beer specials at $3-$4/beer at the bar I typically go to and the 2-3 beers I have per game, it's pretty easy actually. Of course, the couple of games a year I choose to watch at home (usually 3-4, though it used to be more when this team was worth watching) negate any of the times I go over that amount (the rare occasion I buy food or more beer). Do I need to do the math for you or can you handle it? Meh, I'll do it for you. Taking the high end of those averages and assuming I watch every single game at a bar: $4 x 3 beers x 16 games = $192. So, in that occasion, which never happens, I would go over $200, but only because I'm a very good tipper.

None of that accounts for the fun factor either. That comes free though.

2-3 beers a game at a bar? What are you, some kind of Prohibitionist?

Unfortunately, no. The bar I go to is a pretty mixed crowd, which is better than a lot of places that are big on jests or giants fans.

As noted previously, I do a lot of work on the weekends, unfortunately. 2-3 GOOD beers allows me to continue to be productive afterwards. Or at least try to be.

Game Pass is great and you can obtain it free, or at least over the last several years I did. As noted it is only available overseas but you can redirect your ISP easily. Where it's free is in the Netherlands. Whether it's intentional or a glitch, our Dutch friends can tune in at no cost. All they need is an nfl.com account.

If you have a friend with or if you have a VPN, try it.

That's about my limit on Sundays too. It's called pacing ones self so that they're not driving drunk after the game. Please tell me you're in walking distance of your local watering hole.

I have Direct TV and they have given me Sunday Ticket free of charge for five years. Stay tuned to find out if I can make it six.

I'm going to try it this year and use not being able to get WWE pay per views as another reason I want to dump direct TV. Just another thing folks can pile on as WWE and DTV are angry with each other so DTV doesn;t carry their PPV events. Whether we like WWE or not is irrelevant, coming off as an avid WWE fan who doesn't want to subscribe to their network could help here.

Ok people. Try the Tenchis TV toolbar (Google it) on your computer. The have crappy free feeds that I have resorted to using multiple times. But I recently tried their VIP account, which is 10 bucks a month, and I have watched numerous UFC and boxing events in great (nearly) HD quality. I hook my laptop to the TV and presto, cheap pay per view. I haven't tried the VIP for the NFL season yet, but I know they carry the games, and if it's as good a quality as their other stuff I'm good to go. I suggest checking it out.
