Sunday Ticket without Directv?

I just tried to sign up for myself. You have to go through an eligibility check that wants your address. You need to live in an apartment or be in a location where DirecTV isn't.

Maybe if you have a friend or family that has directv and already gets Sunday ticket, you can ask them to upgrade to max and you cover that cost.

You will then need their online login though.

I just don't see why they wouldn't let everyone buy it, I mean I get they want people to just sign up for directv but a lot of people just don't want that. If they sold that package to everyone they would make considerable money imo

It's f****** clownshoes, really. We're basically throwing our money at them and they're saying no. What a joke.

They would have more 200-350 per year customers. But the would lose some customers that pay much more.

I watch all my nfl games legally online. Its called gamepass or something, its not cheap but you can select just the games of your team or get the entire leagues games.

Fairly sure its just for non US fans though

not cheap ? its 149 € for the whole season and like 200 including playoffs and SB, how is 8 € or like 11 $ not cheap for a weekend with every game and redzone available live for the whole season ?

its the best deal ever for a non american

For the record if you are thinking of going with NFL Game Rewind I forgot to also mention that it doesn't include their Preseason package, which is an addition $19.99 but does broadcast games live. You can just do the 19.99 for the preseason games if you want to get feel for the product and decide if you're interested in getting it for the regular season.

For me it makes more sense to cut cable and go with the NFL, NBA and MLB online pay services and netflix. Add in hulu or hulu plus and espn3 and few other sites and it's still a lot cheaper than cable or Direct Tv.

So I may have a stupid question; if I bought a slingbox to install at my friends house, DTV or no, I would have access to every channel they have in HD if they have it? Why would I need a Roku as well? Is it purely serving the same purpose as hooking my computer to my tv with the slingbox?

As long as it's hooked up via HD your stream should be in HD. I used to use a slingbox to watch dolphins games as well at my old job. You basically can control the TV/DVR like you were sitting in front of it. I'm not sure if it's different now but if the person who has the slingbox hooked up to their tv changes the channel it'll change for you and if you change the channel it'll change on the tv so I always had to make sure nobody touched the tv while I was watching. I never used a roku and didn't need one for the slingbox. It was hooked up to a tv with sunday ticket. It was nice because there was no noticeable lag between the stream and tv version and no buffering at all.

I also used the sunday ticket streaming on computer and on ps3 when it was there. The ps3 version the first year was a disaster so I used it maybe once. The PC version was pretty good but you'd get quality dropoffs and sometimes the streams would just stop or not start. This was a few years ago so they may have fixed that. Also the stream on there was usually a few minutes behind the broadcast so if you follow other games or anything on NFL.com or something similar you'll see plays on there well before they happen in the stream. Again this may have changed.

Here a screencap I took to show a friend how slingbox works. This was hooked up via s-video so it wasn't HD but the quality for me was good enough:

In the past I always streamed illegally and last year I got the package with madden. Doesn't sound like slingbox will work and it may be back to the bar/streaming sites for me

DirectV does not show any pre-season games either. One gripe I have. Other than that, its great.

Sorry i ****ed up the quote above.

I don't know much about Slingbox, which I should, but in theory I could buy one of these units send it to someone in Miami who gets the games free and pay them $50-$100 to hook it up in their seldom used guest bedroom and I could watch the games anywhere in the country correct? Or in theory since I'm in Denver now if I found a Bronco fan in Miami we could both get slingboxes and I could watch the Dolphins free and he could watch the Broncos free correct?

Would it be possible for one person to broadcast it on slingbox and several other to watch it at different locations? For example if I had a slingbox account could several people on FInheaven all watch the game from their homes? My guess is only one person can log in at a time, but I'm not sure. I'm wondering what's stopping someone in Miami from buying a Slingbox and then having 10 Finheaven members from all over the country give him $50 to watch his HD broadcast of the games. The person with the Slingbox makes a profit and several members get to watch the season for a small cost? Seems like a win for all if it could be done.

Not a bad idea. There's a new sling box coming out on 7/20 which I plan on getting. I'm travelling to my other home in Miami at the end of the month and planned on trying this myself. I'm tired of paying $200+ per year , in addition to the $20 that I drop for preseason live.

I just grabbed gamepass for the year. Got every teams regular season and preseason games this time... Wasn't much more than just the fins,

Worked out that it cost about $170 but I split that up into four monthly payments of £25

If I were a yank I'd consider some sort of ISP mask and use gamepass.

Oh and I can also get replays of any game anytime I like. And get a years NFL network free as well.

I happily pay for this even though I could easily stream it. Its reasonably priced and makes my life easier. That's the secret to killing off piracy... Ease of access though things like gamepass, steam and Netflix

I remember reading that Google tried to get the NFL rights... That would have been amazing!
