Support For Coach Gase

I would like to see:

1. Gase relinquish play calling;
2. Burke be relieved of his duties (we could consider a 34);
3. Miami commit more consistently to the run game early, late, and in between of games;
4. Look at Winston Moss as a new lb coach (but take away his twitter privileges);
5. An aggressive, go for it, posture; and
6. Emphasize physicality on the front seven and the offensive line.

Without even discussing personnel or injury-avoidance issues, those things would help Gase take a huge step forward.
 
Gase will stay. But he will need to hire a new DC (maybe lure Vance Joseph back?), bring in legit competition for Ryan, and maybe give up playcalling. Of all those three the playcalling is least likely. But he has to change something major to keep his job and he HAS to make the playoffs next year, injuries or not. The good news is he's not averse to making major changeups. So I don't think a new DC will be a problem. His only worry really is if this whisper of Jim Harbaugh being interested in Miami proves true.
 
you cant commit to the run when your defense cant stop anyone.

yes that would have been the way to go in the second and third quarters, 2-3 yard runs. a whole bunch of them.

maybe we can beat the jags with our non existent running game next week.

Coaches between Shula and Gase went 59-73 against AFC east (45%)

Two 2-3 yard runs amount to third and 4, not third and 10. That was a bit of an issue today.

exactly. three three yard runs. run on all first downs. we will be undefeated. gore runs when we are down 14 in the third quarter.
nobody will catch on or stop us and we win pulling away.... we win and we wont have to bother poor tanny.

on defense since wake cant seem able to touch an opponent, lets not rush the qb anymore but instead lets make an interception on every down.

Dude, Vance Joseph was not even a good DC for us! He wouldng be much of an upgrade over Burke. It was astonishing that he got a HC gig after sucking as a DC
 
If Gase can finish 9-7 he be in safe harbor. If he loses the next two, the only way he should keep his job is if he proposes a rebuild.

As usual with Miami, though, the lines of authority are not clear. There’s no chance that Grier has that kind of authority.
