Surtain so called replacement

Yes, Rodgers at #7 or #9 would definatly have to be considered BPA. That is why I had him as ???? for the Titans.

I think Rodgers drops to # 14 or further.

without a doubt, Will Poole would be the replacement. He was raising eyebrows in last year's training camp...yes Howard has the big contract, but Will Poole has the ability to make plays.

Dude...who are we talking about here?

Rodgers is a QB from Cal

Rogers is a CB from Auburn

Help us out here so we can understand what you're saying.

What about two years ago in cinncy? Dillon went down and Rudy came on strong. Dillon was not as productive when he came back but he still started over Rudy. Same thing in Cinncy with Kitna & Palmer. Kitna had a fantasic year, then he was benched in favor of the high dollar younger player. even after palmer did not perform kitna stayed on the bench. Now I Agree that the best players should play, but that is not always the case. It's a business you play the players with the bigger names in order to sell tickets. i don't like it, you may not like it but that is the way it is.

Ok, I can agree with parts of this Like the other dude said, if they're close and one has an apparently bright future, and the other is on his last leg, then yea the younger guy makes sense, But the other way around is Bullcrap to me........... A guy starts over someone who is better than him just because he's been there longer, or makes more money........PURE CRAP!!!!

We have Madison, Poole and Howard...and how is that a good thing?
Madison clearly looks like his better years are behind him ( Surtain, right now is way better than Madison ) we should have traded him about two years ago.
Poole has yet to impress in a real way and Howard came over from the Panthers where most people figured the Panther secondary was their weakest point.
Those that are 100% sure Miami will have a great secondary this year, might be in shock, losing Surtain is going to hurt Miami more than than most realize.

However, I suspect our changes in defense may put less emphasis on one on one coverage.

At the same time, Surtain's greatest asset, his physicality, has been slightly hindered by the rules.

That said, we need players at other slots and we need to fix our cap problems created by Wanny/Spielman. This is a step in that direction. We're not going to make perfect trades or decisions. Sometimes you have to give up something like that.

Than how would you explain Dillon Starting over Rudy? Rudy was on fire and Dillon was not even close to 100% yet he played and Rudy sat.

NO Surtain

Surtain will be very missed, he is one of the best, and anyone who says Poole can fill Pats shoes is smoking crack. In fact no one in the NFL could fill Pats shoes short of Chris McCalister,Champ Bailey.    :shakeno: :shakeno:

Mcalister is one of the most overated players in the NFL EVER

It would have to be Poole or Howard. Edwards has no chance. If you ever saw Edwards play you wouldn't want him to start. I've seen him play tons of times because my dad is a cowboy fan. He might be a great fourth conerback tho.

i may be wrong, i dont know, but isnt EDWARDS the one who completely killed us during the Dolphins-Cowboys game??? If i remember correctly, he was the main reason our pass offense suuuuuuucked that game. Or was that someone else:confused: (i could swear it was Edwards)

Reggie Howard and Will Poole.

Howard has a huge contract. To justify it he will probably be handed the starters roll.

Saban isnt that stupid. You dont start a player just because you are paying him a lot of money. You start the best player. If that happens to be a rookie or 2nd year player and you have to bench a high priced vet, then so be it.
