sources close to Licht and Miami have both said the reports of him being offered were inaccurate, but the Fins did contact him to tell him that he would have been a finalist
There will be a Darlington or Mando report that says this is not true and the Ross/Philbin supporters will be able to point to it.
Looks like your Mando report just came out, and I'm pointing to it.....laughing at everyone in this thread who was so sure we wanted to hire Licht and failed.
Ian Rapoport's credibility took a big hit with me.
Ummm, Mando's report doesn't really even refute it. The Dolphins still wanted to hire Licht, he was one of their finalists. Who knows if he was favored over Farmer or another candidate, but from Mando's reports he was one of the finalists for the job they wanted to interview this weekend.

Because of the long meandering process, they were turned down by one of their finalists in favor of another team that was more proactive in their search.
It really doesn't change the narrative all that much. Now the Dolphins are down to a "backup" finalist because Licht is gone.

I think you are confused.....Licht was a finalist. Thats doesnt mean he was offered the job as Ian Rapoport said in the OP. There is a HUGE difference between being invited to a 2nd round of interviews, and being offered the job. Completely bogus report by Rapoport.
Rapoport took a dump on the Fins, and you flies gobbled it right up.

Read the first post of the thread, then read the report Zounds was referring to. They say two completely different things, so yes, it does refute what was originally reported.
While it is slightly better, it is still troublesome. They lost out on one of their finalists who they MIGHT have ended up hiring if he passed the final round. But since the Dolphjns ran this long protracted disorganized search that left several candidates in the dark, they lost out on that opportunity.
If Licht fills the Buccs with talent and we are left with Spielman Jr., Ross can blame himself for losing the better candidate.

More Dolphins Dysfunction, Ian Rapoport is reporting that Ross tried to hire Licht after he became aware the Buccaneers were closing in on him. Licht rejected him.
