Take the 19 Million and run ... straight to camp!

I agree.

If the fins weren't willing to give him a no.2 pick's salary , they should've traded that pick by all means possible.
shaddup you said that already....no copy/pasting Justa :yell: .

While I agree in concept that Brown can and should ask for anything he can. However, I can see how he thinks that he is worth the same money as a QB picked before him. QB is the most important position on the team with a 13-15 year longevity should he stay healthy. RB is much less crucial with a much shorter shelf life. Dont give me any BS about the shelf like of his career means he should get more money up front b/c thats bs. If he wanted 15 years he should have learned to THROW the ball.

 AMEN!!! I think its just greed!:shakeno:

Miami has offered Ronnie Brown 19 Million in guaranteed money, he (or his agent) is demanding 22

What is it that 22 million will buy him that 19 won't? Certainly not the respect of the players who are busting their ***** everyday in camp for a fraction of that.

Take the money, live like a rich f@cking pig the rest of your life and get your A$$ to camp.

I couldn't agree more. Sign the deal and get in camp, Ronnie.

What an absolutely ridiculous analogy...

First off all, I've already been at my job for 5 years, I have a proven track record. My bosses pay me what I get because I have proven my worth to them. Secondly, we are not talking about salary, we are talking about guranteed money, if I had a career ending injury, there is no guaranteed money that would support me like Hugh Heffner for the rest of my days.

OK, so when you switch jobs, throw out your resume and 2 companies vie for your services, go with the one offering the least amount of money and DO IT QUICKLY!!

19 mil is plenty, make up the rest in incentives, etc. Damn Indy for the guaranteed up front money precedence!!

That's your opinion Jimmy not mine. Comparing someone who is about to make at least $19 million dollars in one day guaranteed to someone who works 40-60 hours a week to make $100,000 dollars in one year, without gurantees is crazy.

Suggesting that somebody take $19 million when they merit (and yes, I say merit) more than that is also crazy. I'm glad you're getting the point of me making that analogy.

its not our place to "school" the agents guys like rosenhaus (sp) are slowly getting black-balled some his clients are sliding in the draft because teams dont want to deal with him....now that that has started happening his rep will take a huge dump. This agent for Ronny is just fighting for what his client is "due" in the current NFL market his offer is right in line with everyone else's. The only way this kinda crap stops with the rooks is if the NFLPA votes for a rookie cap and that is quite possible as the rookies dont get a vote :goof: .

The opinion that he is "due" this is because of weak negotiating from other front offices... $19 Million is plenty.

look guys its a market... and the market is set right now to 15%-20% increase over last year... why should ronnie except being under the market value? his agent wont, hopefully they'll settle on 20 or 21 or something and do it quickly but dont expect him to just take 19 and run...

The market for QB's might be 15-20%, but for RB's, it is not! His buddy got 15 mil at number 5. There is nothing wrong with 19 at #2. Brown is missing alot at this point. Saban is not the kind of guy to budge. 19 it should be. It is what the dolphins think the market should be, not what the 49ers think the qb market should be. 19 mil in the bank is as good as 100mil in the bank in the future, If you know how to work the system. He has a degree, he can figure it out.

Let's not cry about France here. If Ronnie wanted to take that deal out of the goodness of his heart or stupidity, I'm sure France would survive. He certainly doesn't want to get painted as a patsy who can't bring in the money, but it is still Ronnie's deal.

This is about Ronnie being satisfied with what comes. France is just a tool. (I figured I'd make that a sentence of its own for those who want to have fun quoting it).

This may be Ronnie's only deal ever. Chances are France has given Ronnie the same spiel about it being an insult etc.

Agents work for the players. Most aren't as informed as the fans that follow it from day to day so if their agents are telling them it's not good enough most players trust their agents as they are hired to do the job for them.

And 5% "is" an insult if it's true about the reports.

Why not, he hasn't done SH....T in the NFL or for the PHINS. 19 mil is way enough! Give me a break! Stop bening a greedy freakin ROOK, I hope the vereran kick his arse for being late!

i think if anything the initial contract should be MORE For a RB than a QB, QB takes what 3 years to probably be fully accustomed to the NFL and to his full potential... wihle a RB can come in and dominate right away...

and who cares if RB has a shorter shelf life, more the reason to pay him during the prime of that career... besides the contracts are only 5 years long, they aren't career long....

there has been a trend of 10-15 percent for like 7 years bro...its lowballing no way around it...he will get his 10-15% bank on it..Its just nice to know we dont have fools like the 9rs running the show.

How does he "merit" it? The only reason you can say that is because some other front office set a high bar.

About this 20% number...

If you ask me, it's a natural consequence of the shorter pro-ration period for contracts this year (5 vs. 6 years last year). More money has to be guaranteed because the signing bonuses have to be smaller.
