Take the 19 Million and run ... straight to camp!

What 3 million more spread over 5 years.

600,000.00/ year.

So I would push 1.5million over 5 year.

300,000.00 / year..... Just thinking about the cap not Wayne pockets.

How does he "merit" it? The only reason you can say that is because some other front office set a high bar.

Market analysis. Look at what his peers are making. Look at what similarly situated players made in the past. He did everything he needed to do to put himself in the position he is in.

shaddup you said that already....no copy/pasting Justa :yell: .
the fins should've traded that pick if they didn't want to pay him a no. 2 pick's salary.

How much guaranteed money did the first RB taken last year get?

I am all for Ronnie getting his big payday, but I hope that he isnt a bust. He is getting a lot of money and he hasn't proved anything in the the NFL yet. It is whole new ball game then the college level.

Its not Ronnie Brown thats too blame. He is only trying to get what is due to him.

Its the system thats skewed. There is no differentiation between positions. Its just based on what the first player drafted gets and everyone else tries to reach a proportional scale from that.

Imagine if Smiths agent had negotiated a 40 pct increase does it make sense for all the teams to follow suite like a pied piper.

Thats putting too much influence in one GMs hand .That GM could be the worst GM in the NFL and it all depends on him.?

The first running back taken last year wasn't taken in the top 20. So that has no bearing on the #2 pick.

We're prejudice against bills fans here so if you dont like it leave.

look guys its a market... and the market is set right now to 15%-20% increase over last year... why should ronnie except being under the market value? his agent wont, hopefully they'll settle on 20 or 21 or something and do it quickly but dont expect him to just take 19 and run...

agree, a more sensible solution and the more likely solution.

if ricky would have told us in time last year we could have gotten julius jones, kevin jones, or stephen jackson last year and drafted a qb this year

This may be Ronnie's only deal ever. Chances are France has given Ronnie the same spiel about it being an insult etc.

Agents work for the players. Most aren't as informed as the fans that follow it from day to day so if their agents are telling them it's not good enough most players trust their agents as they are hired to do the job for them.

And 5% "is" an insult if it's true about the reports.

I don't think 5% is an insult as far as an opening offer goes.

I agree with you about how most players view agents. If I were paying what they pay, I'd want somebody I could trust, too.

I was just pointing out that it isn't just France's reputation involved. It is about Ronnie because (as you point out) France just works for Ronnie. If he wanted to be in camp more than anything in the world, he'd be there. I'm not making a judgment about him or blasting him becuase this isn't the case. Frankly, I'm not convinced that it's a big deal that he is out of camp right now. There is still plenty of time for him to get into playing shape.

Opening offer was made in June. If this were the opening offer he wouldn't be signed for another couple weeks.

It's clearly been stated that they are digging in their heels about the large increases this year.
