Take the 19 Million and run ... straight to camp!

Its not Ronnie Brown thats too blame. He is only trying to get what is due to him.

Its the system thats skewed. There is no differentiation between positions. Its just based on what the first player drafted gets and everyone else tries to reach a proportional scale from that.

Imagine if Smiths agent had negotiated a 40 pct increase does it make sense for all the teams to follow suite like a pied piper.

Thats putting too much influence in one GMs hand .That GM could be the worst GM in the NFL and it all depends on him.?

It really isn't just one GM. If the Niners had been complete idiots, everybody else would realize it. They might have gone a little high, but a lot of the increase is supported by other contracts signed like the one Williams has.

I'm really not convinced that position matters that much. If the position isn't one where a player should be paid, why was he taken that high? You don't see fullbacks going in the first round with any regularity for a reason.

its not our place to "school" the agents guys like rosenhaus (sp) are slowly getting black-balled some his clients are sliding in the draft because teams dont want to deal with him....now that that has started happening his rep will take a huge dump. This agent for Ronny is just fighting for what his client is "due" in the current NFL market his offer is right in line with everyone else's. The only way this kinda crap stops with the rooks is if the NFLPA votes for a rookie cap and that is quite possible as the rookies dont get a vote :goof: .

I highly doubt that any team would pass on the player they want because of his agent. That is absurd.

Opening offer was made in June. If this were the opening offer he wouldn't be signed for another couple weeks.

It's clearly been stated that they are digging in their heels about the large increases this year.

Fair enough.

its not his fault that the market has increased so much, we're just gonna have to pay him

Actually the Redskins apparently chose Taylor over Evil Kinieval last year because of representation.

If I had two players (say left tackles) graded the same, but one was repped by the Poston brothers, you'd better bet I'd go with the other one.

I have to imagine that it is almost never an issue, but I can imagine it coming up.

Good for the Phins front office!

Didn't the alleged Florida shooter change agents because he was angry about this when he found out?

They won't win. They'll realize they are being daft and will settle at around the 12-15% mark.

If you want to complain then tell your boss you should have 15% less then your other employees who do similar work becuase you want to be a "team player".

Rosenhaus is the man. I don't know why everyone hates him. He hasn't held out any of his players and is a no nonsense guy that doesn't beat around the bush.

It's all about Wale. This team couldn't afford to pay him what he was worth, and many here believe the team got jobbed in the trade because they don't like Marty Booker and because of the subsequent Lamar Gordon trade that shouldn't actually have anything to do with that.

It also has to do with the large number of Dolphins/Hurricanes he reps. Familiarity breeds contempt in this case.

I don't get it, either -- he seems quite slimy but a relatively reasonable agent.

I understand the Poston brothers to be *far* worse than he is.

Yup that's why the Redskins passed on one of their clients in the draft last year. Remember they were behind the Lavar contract fiasco.

A lot of teams don't like dealing with them cause they will hold thier clients out till the team caves for a 'record setting' contract.

Huh? He's got like 5 players holding out (I think I heard on Rome Burning), TO just decided to report but was threatening to hold out.
