Tannehill and Wallace

We won so I don't want to place blame. Both Wallace and THill looked equally horrible at times yesterday. Wallace is who he is and we have to try to make the best use of him as a player. THill hopefully will get better but yesterday was a horrible start for him.

This is the ball placement from 40 yards away while throwing on the run:

Give me a break with the "completely botch throw" nonsense.

I'll put this the best way I can, FinfanInBuffalo in a very round about way. Concerning the screen name of, "one who acknowledges an affirmative response to gentleman", some people just lack the general knowledge to discuss football in an intelligent manner and therefore spew blatant discrepancies for the mere sake of trying to to continue a conversation or argument that they could not have otherwise.

Just sayin'.

It seems like part of the issue here is that the Wallace-Tannehill chemistry has become such a big THING. I think this causes Ryan to force the ball to Wallace at times to prove people wrong when we could have hit another open receiver. Also, when he knows he's going to throw to Wallace, I'm sure he psyches himself out a little bit thinking about it and may not release naturally.

We've seen Ryan have great games and throw accurately to other receivers. I think he just needs to have a few good games w/Wallace and the mental aspect of this can change.

Another thing I'd like to point out - Ryan has stepped up a little bit in terms of leadership and being vocal. We saw him chew out Miller after he dropped a route, and I've seen him do it a handful of other times with different guys. The problem is, he's scared of Wallace...he won't get on Wallace when he makes a mistake or gives up on a play. Wallace clearly makes it known via interviews and body language that he thinks all the mistakes are on Ryan. I think he needs to assert himself w/Wallace more and show him that he's the leader of the team. That could go a long way in building confidence.

The window wasn't as small as you think. The window was actually wide open. Thill didn't have to put that ball out of bounds. Do yo think a great QB would make a better throw? And I'm not understanding how you can't see the way Thill could've helped "HIS" WR out by making a better throw.

You do realize on the throw to the endzone, THill was running for his life on an unplanned rollout AND Wilfork (I think) was bearing down on him. He didn't have time to set his feet.

Under the circumstances, it looked like a pretty darn good throw to me, and a tough catch on the other end of it. People don't live in slo-mo.

The INT, on the other hand, was thrown way behind Wallace who was streaking across the 5 yard line deep. Wallace circled back after he located the ball.

While we are at it, how about the pass that hit Wallace in the facemask?

What kind of moron thinks a fumble Wallace lost is Tannehill's fault? LOL.

Maybe if he actually dropped the pass, which was behind him, but he didnt.

Thats all on Wallace.

Trent Green on the CBS broadcast, Joe Rose, Brian Griese, and Jimmy Cefalo on the Dolphins radio broadcast all agreed that if Tannehill threw that ball further inside, it's a TD. Instead, he threw way outside.

Joe Rose put further emphasis on that particular play this morning, and was hammering the same stance over and over...."You've got to throw that thing further inside, and it's touchdown".....

The ball should've been out as soon as Revis was on his heels on that double move....

If you don't agree that that was a poor throw, then I must make the assumption that you struggle to see. Sorry.

Watch the play again. Look at the screenshots of the play posted in this very thread. Was the throw perfect? No. Was it nearly as bad as some make it out to be? No.

Should Wallace, an NFL receiver paid alot of money, be able to catch the ball and have the awareness to stay inbounds? Ummm, YES!

Stoked and Happy about the Win. Not sure why all the Wallace hate. If these 2 Dudes can get on the same page. We could be great. Wallace is a playmaker. He gets open. He toasted Revis on that play, yes Tannehill was on the run, but that ball just needed to be lofted. Wallace did drop a easy one, and fumbled one, he had a shaky first half too. Wallace was open when Tannheill got intercepted too. They were both equally crap in the First. But Wallace had nice 3rd down catch in the 4th quarter yesterday, it was a great pass from Tannehill. We just need more of that Dude, and it's going to be great. Getting ready for the Bills we are going to need Moreno, Wallace, and Tannehill to step up again...

This moron here thinks it's because the bad pass caused Wallace to be in a position that didn't allow him to prepare for the hit, as he was hit while trying to twist his body to head back up field. But hey, hurl your insults at me. I dont give a ****.

This is completely ridiculous. Can a rb blame someone else too if he fumbles after he gets hit from the side and he didn't see the defender until the last second? Someone Being "unprepared for the hit" has happened in every game in the history of the NFL, you're supposed to hold on to the ball reguardless.

I see your point, but I still think the ball placement caused it.

Ball placement had nothing to do with the fumble. These types of catches and hits happen in every game, your job as a WR is
1.Catch the ball
2. Secure it
3. Run like hell

That's why in another thread I was referring to "anticipation" in those throws instead of waiting until the last second to get the ball in there.

Would a more athletic receiver been able to acrobatically get his feet in bounds? Sure, there are some out there. Wouldn't life be easier though if Tanny anticipated and threw the ball slightly more inside right after Wallace burned Revis on the double move? Without question.

Why is it that a majority of the time all this Tannehill not throwing it well enough talk is usually about a pass to Wallace?
