Tannehill vs Luck Updated

use stats as a guide not as a be all end all. Ask the dolphins if they would trade Luck for Tannehill straight up and see what they say. sites like pro football focus are ruining fans.

If yu read the OP, I said that I was NOT saying that RT was as good as Luck but , that the stat comparison was very interesting. I enjoy PFF and their watch every play eyeball grades and rankings, as they do the same for all players on all teams. Far from perfect but, better than anyone else.

So, you have extensive stats, nationally recognized eyeball tests, and my opinion after watching every game at least twice.

What do you go by?

you mean the guy that has as many wins w/ less talent as the great Ryan Tannehill?

I worry about wins, I don't worry about meaningless fantasy #s

Yeah, the same Geno that has been so bad at times that he has been benched at least twice during games.

I go by what my eyes tell me. I don't worry about an independent grading system that doesn't know the playcall, read, who ran the wrong route, who made the bad protection call, etc... I want my QB to make plays when it matters most, to help my team win. I value that more than stats no matter how in depth they are.

Oh, God..... here comes 4 years of inane attempts to defend crappy QB play with team accomplishments..... Where have we seen this before??? Get back to us when Geno or Mark don't suck.

we saw it when you were last pumping up Chad henne. I am not pumping up geno, he's nowhere near as good as mark(neither is Ryan) but I hope he turns out better.

AGAIN, Ryan is better than geno. I am not debating that(for now) but last I checked they have the same amount of wins and if the season ended today geno's team would be in the playoffs not Ryan's team.

Why are we talking about a ****ty WVU quarterback who got benched this week in a thread about Andrew Luck and Ryan Tannehill?

I mean, I enjoy talking about pick-sixes thrown by quarterbacks wearing green uniforms, don't get me wrong, but can we please take it to one of the various "LOL GENO SMITH" threads in Beasts of the AFC East?
:( Sorry that is my fault this time. I fed it.

I get you struggle w/ reading but I said it all along Mark was awful last year and to end 2011. Go back and check your archives as you know you have all my posts saved somewhere.

I agree w/ that, Ryan is better than geno w/o a doubt. I am not bashing Ryan but rather complimenting Luck. No sane football fan would ever compare Luck and Tannehill at this point.

I think the best QB on your roster is Matt Sims. He's not as flashy or "exciting" but I think he'll be your permanent starter soon. At least for the rest of this season.

I don't know about the "less talent"part their Junc. The Jets have a superior line to Miami without a doubt and I've never see the Miami running game carry the offense and the Heys defense has been better. I'd say RB's are pretty close, the Jets have 2 TE's who catch passes to Miami's 1 and a motivated Santonio Holmes is probably the best WR on both teams. Stephen Hill is also raw but talented. I'd say the disparity in the Oline is the biggest though. Tannehill is being asked to carry the offense while Smith is being asked not to blow the game.

Colts OL is worse than the Dolphins IMO. Luck covers up a lot of the Colts short comings.
Very interesting comparison between the two though. I'd take Luck over Tannehill in a heartbeat.

we may see if geno has another stinker.

Our OL is better but it's not great. You guys pass way too jmuch, if you actually tried to run you could do it and take pressure off the QB but for some reason you want to pass like crazy every week.

Santonio has barely played
Cumberland has missed games
Winslow was suspended
Kerley is out for a while
hill has not progressed

we beat NO w/ Greg Salas off the street catching passes along w/ David Nelson.

Ryan has a lot more talent to throw to.

Ryan in year 2 despite numerous upgrades in talent has Miami at 5-5 behind Jets

Geno as rookie w/ team predicted to win 2-3 games has team at 5-5 and in playoff contention

You sound like a politician in this thread.

I can definitely see a few Luck/Tannehill playoff matchups in the next decade. I don't see Geno joining the party, though

You don't know any of the above either, none of us do. Have you watched every one of RT's plays this year, and as importantly every one of Luck's plays to compare? IF so, how many plays when it matters most, to help the team win, did each QB make this year?

Phans watch their own team's players very closely but, do not watch other team's players anywhere near close to make a fair comparison.

You are eating glue if you think Tannehill is in Luck's league. Point blank. Watch the games.

Last season also adding Reggie Wayne's TDs, total yds, and yds per game to Tannehill - or subtracting them from Luck and you've got similar QBs except for Luck's greater number of Ints.

But be that as it may, if you think Geno Smith is, or will ever be in Tannehill's league, you're sniffing glue out of a paper bag!
