[/COLOR]Are you saying you wouldn't bet a lot on it?

I'm saying put it out there if you're interested...otherwise move along and stop asking me hypothetical questions.

every game you get a couple throws where you are left like "only a handful of qbs in this league could read it that well and that quickly and execute that ball at that level" with tannehill...every game

two of those throws against cinci in that fg drive to tie it were as money as it gets...wow throws...2nd and 17 ball down the seam to mathews away from the coverage and where only he could go up and get it and the man under 2 deep throw to hartline over the under defender jones and in front of the coming over safety for a toe drag and clock stoppage...you kidding me the qb freaking bailed us out with bang on presnap coverage reads and quick decisions and perfect placement balls...

you find me and let me know how many young qbs can make those reads and those throws and not screw it up by spraying the ball into coverage off poor reads and poor decisions like tannehill can...there's not many in the league period let alone 2nd year

chad henne could never in a million years sniff that..

Would you bet ten thousand dollars on his becoming, as you said, "elite"?

Is that a serious question? What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to make a wager with me or are you just reverting to your usual Rain Man rhetoric?

I'm wondering how certain you are of your "bet" that he'll become elite rather than a bust.

I'm quite sure you wonder about lot's of things, I'm flattered that my bank account is one of them. I'll address this one last time, if YOU would like to make a wager with ME, put it out there and we'll discuss it otherwise move along.

Define "elite," and by when, and we'll go from there.

That's what I thought....buh bye...
I agree with this. I do not believe that Tannehill is elite right now but I do see all of the attributes that an NFL team looks for in a franchise QB. He's big, strong, athletic, tough, can make every throw and by all accounts is a very hard worker. I'll admit that I nearly bit the top of my beer can off when he missed the deep ball to Wallace Sunday because it was a sure TD but these things happen (see Brady his first couple years) and over time their chemistry and timing should improve. Wallace has top-of-the-food-chain NFL speed and it not easily adjusted to especially when other factors come into play such as whether or not he got a free release. Hopefully this can be improved. As for his pocket presence, it needs improvement but QBs aren't born with great pocket presence. It's something that's developed with experience. The comparisons to Luck are a bit shallow. Luck had much more experience playing QB and college and had the benefit of superior coaching. I'm not saying Tannehill will ever be on Luck's level but I'm also not convinced that he won't. Only time will tell, but it's way to early to label him a bust or elite, but I'm willing to bet it's the latter.
:confused2:

please stop looking at blind stats, there is absolutely no comparison btw the 2. That doesn't mean Ryan is bad but he's nowhere near Luck no matter what the #s say. It's not about the overall #s, it's about how you got there that matters.

So, making it to 2 AFC Championships is sheer dumb luck and NOT a product of skill? Enlighten, please.

Would you bet $10,000.00 that he will become a bust? The poster said this "Only time will tell, but it's way to early to label him a bust or elite, but I'm willing to bet it's the latter." So, what say you? Feeling lucky?

I did this a few weeks ago, and wanted to take another look. Not saying that RT is as good as Luck but, the stat comparison is very interesting.

RT has 2474 yards, a 6.8 avg, and a 61.2 completion %. Luck has 2430 yards, a 7.0 avg, and a 59.4 completion %.

RT has 14 TD's and 11 Int's. Luck has 14 TD's and 6 Int's.

RT is ranked #8 (PFF) with a 81.5 NFL rating. Luck is ranked #7 (PFF) with a 87.0 NFL rating.

RT has been sacked 41 times. Luck has been sacked 23 times.

RT has 25 drops. Luck has 25 drops.

Break Down by Passes in the Air

Over 20 yards- RT 9 of 34. Luck 13 of 38

10-19 yards- RT 55 of 109. Luck 44 of 89

0-9 yards- RT 126 of 166. Luck 109 of 154.

Behind the Line- RT 34 of 36. Luck 40 of 50.

Wonder if there are any Colts fans even thinking Luck is having a bad year, he should be replaced or, is a bust?.

I've come to the conclusion and have just accepted that the haters compare Tannehill to the Manning's, Brees, Rodgers and just say Luck, RG3, and Wilsons to make their points sounds valid.

Those stats aren't really close in the OP, Luck is clearly better. How about Andrew Luck 3 fumbles, Ryan Tannehill 8.
