Tanny > Matty Ice

Comparing their statistics would address everything you said here.

you mean 1-5.. .1667 NCAA and NFL extended season career?
or is that being unfair? How about 1-4... .200 NFL career

or do you mean 3pts total 4th qtr NCAA and NFL extended season career?
or is that bieng unfair? How about 3 total offensive points NFL extended season career?

So do you want a QB who puts up great numbers in the regular season but fizzles in the post season or a QB that makes it to the post season and wins?

Melty fits the former. I'll take the latter.

RT is neither but his season, along with the characteristics of his team this year, are very similar to Melty and the Falcons.

Interesting that you would say that.

Start a thread.

I'm waiting for the "Ryan Tannehill is better than Drew Brees" thread coming up:lol:

Vaark, I think you're fighting a hopeless fight here. People on this board are somehow in love with Matt Ryan. I don't know why. I have seen elite QBs play but Matt Ryan just isn't one of them.

That said, would he have been a better choice over Jake Long in 2008? I honestly don't know. Is Matt Ryan better than Ryan Tannehill? I don't know either. All I know is that we're 5-5, still have a chance to make the postseason and the Atlanta Falcons season is over. Which team is more talented is debatable because "talent" is sujective but I know one thing for sure: if we had done a poll before the season how many games the Falcons are behind us after week 12, not a single soul here would have said 3. In fact, most people would have claimed that it would be rather us being multiple games behind the Falcons. Take it for what it's worth.

Matt Ryan is not elite but there's no comparison btw him and Tannehill right now. maybe some day down the road but right now it is laughable.

ryan tannehill is the definition of average at this point in his career. he has opportunities almost every week to shed that label and does nothing to lead you to believe he is on his way to elite. that awful throw to hartline late in the 4th against san diego is the perfect example. hes had 2 clutch game winning drives(atlanta, seattle) in 26 career starts. comparing him to matt ryan is an absolute joke. compare him to jake locker or christian ponder, those are more realistic comparisons.

matt ryans better right now...he steps up and climbs the pocket well...a few of those sacks yesterday not much he could do similar to tannehill...jailbreak type stuff...held the ball one time he should have took a shot vertical before getting engulfed which at times just about any qb will do...

thing is though matt ryans a 6th year vet finished product qb and tannehills ceiling is higher than ryans provided his pocket play gets better...i'd take tannehill and his future over what matt ryan is right now as a finished product any day...

Matt Ryan as a 1st 2nd year QB was better than Ryan Tannehill is now.

like i give a damn...this is about tannehills ceiling and future as i see it...and it's higher than matt ryans who if he's not propped up by legit playmakers all over the place plays pretty average ball...i realize he's up against it this year but he's a 6 year vet making max money 2-9??? jeez...

The lack of awareness that people have when they make excuses for Matt Ryan for not having talent around him is downright hilarious. Comic gold.
