Texas just had to go on and do it, they handed Papelbon his first "blown save" if you can even call it that...

Either way, it ended up pissing off Paps because he came back out in the 9th and struck out the side. Man, I love this kid.

Onto tomorrow, which is Jon Lester's big league debut.. who's excited?

Yeah he "blew a save" without giving a run on his own, I guess we have to kiss the Gagne record goodbye.

Anyway now this will shut up all the people that said once he blows his first save he'll become human again. Well hopefully his 9th inning is a showing of him being human. I'm not worried about Paps.

Can't wait for tomorrow, let's go Lester....

Im here fellas....... Here to stay!

Some notes today from Boston.com:

-As we reported in Friday's edition of the Globe, it looks like Jon Lester's stay in Boston will be long-term and not just an "emergency start," particularly considering Wells might not be in the picture for a while.

Hopefully the kid is the real deal. I can't wait, only a few more hours.... and hopefully the rain doesn't delay the game too much.

What's the word on Hansen.. I hear he's going back to AAA but only in the short-term.

They're sending him down to Triple A to be the closer and will be called up to the bigs in July probably and pitch out of the pen.

I can't believe we won' t get a game in today..

I know it, damn RAINgers.

Here's an update from Boston.com:
A meeting took place in left field at about 4:11 p.m. between owner John Henry and Sox executives Mike Dee and Larry Lucchino and a couple of grounds crew members. Almost simultaneously, the grounds crew came out and were beginning the process of taking the tarp off the soggy field and then began working on the infield.
The Sox have still not made an official announcement on when the game will start, but they flahed on the scoreboard, "We are trying to do everthing we can to get today's game in. We hope to have an update shortly."

Games on now. 2nd game is cancelled. Apparently tomorrow there's going to be a day/night double header at 12 and 5. Beckett and Clement will be the pitchers.
