Bad news guys: Pornstache has an ACL injury though its probably not torn it looks like hes DL-bound:

According to multiple reports, including Adam Rubin in the Daily News, and Ed Coleman on WFAN, Mets 2B Jose Valentin will soon be placed on the disabled list with an injury to his ACL.

The team has yet to make an official announcement.

…however, the word from new orleans is that Ruben Gotay is already on his way to Shea Stadium, if he isn’t there already…

In 82 at-bats for Triple-A New Orleans, Gotay is batting .256 with two home runs and 13 RBI.

Gotay has struck out 14 times, but also walked 14 times.

…interestingly, gotay is not on the team’s 40–man roster, while Anderson Hernandez is…however, it appears the team has room for an addition, without making a subtraction…so that’s good…i would think Damion Easley will get the bulk of the starts, but i’m excited to see gotay play, as he wow’d me a few times on defense this spring…

Oh it gets better: El Duque has shoulder bursitis and may be DL bound as well. Chan Ho is starting tonight.

At what point do we consider Humber Vargas or just bumping Heilman up in the rotation and calling up sosa to take his spot since Sosa has been great so far in AAA?

Well some good news: Wickman to the DL

I guess we can call the problem "Upper Back Fat" :)

LMAO!

I knew about El Duque, but Valenitne's hurts. I'm not sure Gotay is much different from Hernandez from what little I've seen.

Looks like we get to see the Chan Ho out of the Park show.
I think the Heilman to the rotation ship has sailed. I'd much rather give some of our young guys a few starts for experience.

Ugh Park is washed up. He was god awful tonight. The one off easley's glove hurt but still just a bad job.

Vargas and Humber have much higher ceilings and Vargas in particular pitched like a good 4th starter a year and a half ago. It wasnt that long ago the Dbacks considered Vargas a guy who could be a 2 so there is some upside there.

I also think that with Sele pitching like garbage now might be a great time to give Humber a shot and use him in the Adam Wainright role. Let him be our long man, get adjusted to the bigs for a year, take a few lumps and then he can work on what he needs to because he really doesnt have much left to accomplish at the minor league level.

**** chanhopark... get off of this team.
i agree.. much rather watch a young buck get rocked for experience than watch chan ho throw batting practice.

real good game to go to last night. Got to watch Chan Ho Park just serving up batting practice. Ah well, hopefully Willie realizes how bad he is and brings up one of the kids...

Well, at least they learned that CHP has nothing left and will cut the cord (hopefully). Too bad, I was looking forward to reviving the "Chan Ho Park Facts" discussion.

I'm hoping Jorge Sosa skips his start in NOLA tonight & is called up to start Sunday.

i know most of yous are nyers, so you get to see the mets often if you choose, but im goin tonite for the manie vs. johnson game... hopefully that late game hitting continues for us... maybe david wright even woke up a bit? delgado is comatose... hes painful to watch right now. anyways... go mets!
