The Black-Out Threads....

No problem at ALL. Was fun. I wish you the best in luck in school.

Hope I don't get in trouble for this, but I have inside knowledge-
They have sold 4000 tickets this AM, and are negotiating with CBS4 right this moment about buying up the remainder.
Blackout has a good chance of being LIFTED.

That would be great. Thanks for the info.

Ticket prices are very expensive. Not everyone can afford them, and so they hope they can enjoy their team on TV instead.

It's easy to say "Quit whining and go buy a ticket!" when you can easily afford them. Some people just aren't on the same economic base as you.

The problem isn't with the Dolphin fans in Miami that go to the games. It's the lack of fans that go to the game.

Miami is a horrible sports town...

Yes, I would agree its in the bottom echelon of sports towns in terms of ATTENDANCE, but I think its still a town that cares about the teams.. The thing about Miami is that its such a mish mosh of people.. Probably more damn New Yorkers down here than native floridians. And the fans that are here are either rich casual fans who only show up when its an "event", or poor fans who cant afford to buy season tickets. There are also so many divergent entertainment outlets competing for the consumers' attention.

Its not like a Buffalo, NY where there is absolutely nothing to do except to go to Ralph Wilson..

the bills are the heart and soul of buffalo. IMO, only Green Bay has more die hard fans. mainly due to what you said, it is a relativly small city, with the only other major sport being "figrure skating with a puck"....

in florida, there are 3 NFL teams and 3 NCAA division 1 college schools, and a few baseball teams.... not to mention the beach and clubs and so on.

but just think of how the cardinal fans feel. if they have fans at all. (arnt they building a brand new stadium??)

Hey thanks for the info. Hopefully the game will be shown. I live in the Bahamas and plan to watch my first Dolphins game in November, but unfortunately my friends and I are dependant weekly on the sell out of tickets to see locally broadcasted games on Direct TV here.

PRECISELY.. And so is every stupid comment regarding going to games if you live int he Miami area.. If people dont have the means, whats the problem? And if you live in West Palm, its an entire day process.. Im just sick of out of towners griping about locals.. It sickens me and reeks of hipocracy(sp?) If you dont live in So.Fla, you dont have room to talk regarding the situation imo..

Hey, if you don't have the means you don't have the means. Completely understandable. I just wish there were 75,000 in the Miami area that did I guess so i can conitnue to rip on Panther fans :)

Bahamas_007, no problem. I'm 75% sure you'll be able to watch the game.

Dolphins have a great relationship with the island people. And the island folks
are some of the best Dolphans. Just stay safe in all these crazy storms. Go Fish.

I completely agree with Blitz... i have had season tickets for 7 years and have nver missed a home game because of it. I dont really care what people complain about as long as i am seeing the game ;). As for the heat, money etc. Tickets are a lot cheaper if you buy them as a season ticket holder! I get my seats (5th row of the endzone.. very good seats) for $58 a game. I think thats pretty darn good. As for the heat, well you just have to deal with the elements if you want to see a game. Take the good with the bad so to speak. I drive 45 minutes to go to the game and my sister drives 3 hours to go to every game so i dont feel sorry for the people that are complaining about not seeing the game or the reasons they dont buy tickets.
