Ugly game vs. the Orioles today. 8-1 Loss

Freddy Garcia tossed four scoreless innings before getting hit for six runs, four earned, in his final two innings of work in the series opener. Jermaine Dye had the only White Sox hits, including a solo homer, as the champs had more errors than hits.

It didn't take very long for White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen to break down his team's 8-1 loss to Baltimore Monday night before 38,829, the franchise-record 20th sellout of 2006 at U.S. Cellular Field.

Finding a White Sox silver lining from Monday would be almost as difficult as it was for the South Siders to hit Baltimore starter Erik Bedard (9-6). The White Sox can't even say they escaped without injury from one of their worst debacles in the past two seasons, as second baseman Tadahito Iguchi left the game in the fifth inning with a mild sprain of his left ankle. He collided somewhat violently with Jermaine Dye while grabbing Kevin Millar's popup in short right field, with each player calling off the other at the same time.
X-rays were negative on Iguchi's left ankle, while Dye suffered a few cuts from Iguchi's cleats after he was kicked in the mouth. Dye should be back in the starting lineup Tuesday, but Iguchi could be out for the next couple of games.
With Pablo Ozuna battling a strained left hamstring, the White Sox might have to make a move Tuesday with their top utility player, depending on his updated condition.

4th of July game, 13-0 Sox all over the Orioles!!!!!
Jose Contreras is a pitching machine 9-0 this season.

The White Sox were clicking on all cylinders, as Juan Uribe and Paul Konerko each drilled three-run shots in Tuesday's blanking of the Orioles. Jose Contreras threw 6 2/3 scoreless innings to notch his ninth victory.

Jose Contreras extended his franchise-best run of consecutive-winning decisions to 17 straight.

Their is no reason for Ozzie to start the roaster in the All-Star game. Contreras/Johan/ or Halladay deserve to start.

John Garland has another good start it looks like he's regaining the form of the first half of last season.

White Sox win 4-2 over the Orioles:

Jon Garland yielded only one run on six hits over 7 1/3 innings in Wednesday night's win over the Orioles, as the White Sox stayed within 1 1/2 games of the Tigers in the AL Central.

The right-hander has allowed 19 more hits than innings pitched in 2006, not to mention 19 home runs, compared to 11 at the break last year, and 11 less hits than innings worked. Of course, there's also the little matter of ERA, with Garland, the All-Star, sitting at 3.38 last year, and Garland, the pitcher getting a four-day respite from baseball, hovering at 5.30 in 2006.

Jon Garland gave up one run in 7 1/3 innings and won his fourth straight decision in Wednesday night's 4-2 victory over the O's. Bobby Jenks got his 26th save in 27 chances, as the White Sox stayed within 1 1/2 games of the Tigers in the AL Central.

White Sox vs. Orioles game 3 today

Vasquez for the Sox vs. Ortiz for the Orioles

Ortiz 0-5 7.33
Vasquez 8-4 5.15

Jim Thome blasted a grand slam and a two-run shot against the Orioles in Thursday's 11-8 series-finale win. Also, Jermaine Dye hit a three-run dinger and A.J. Pierzynski contributed a solo homer. Righty Javier Vazquez picked up his ninth win of the season.

A.J. gets into the all-star game. I hope that Ozzie doesn't even think about using Mark Redmen pitch home-field is huge and Ozzie has an obligation to the rest of the AL. Buehrle pitches everytime the team plays on national television or so it seems.

This is no knock on Thome but if someone on the Sox deserves MVP so far it's Jermaine Dye.

Shouldn't Thome be in the HR contest???

I would hope that no Sox went in the HR contest it kills swings. Just look at Abreu from last year.
