Oh well, no need to play well since were out of it.

Time to get ready for next year.

The White Sox playoff hopes dimmed further on Friday as they lost to the Mariners. Jose Contreras left in the second inning after injuring his right hamstring running to first base.
 
The White Sox will be back.

They will get rid of Posednick (manager hates his guts) they will find a center fielder. They will add a starting pitcher or two. They aren't that far away.

True that, We need to rid Vazques, cannot stand that guy, so inconsistant.
 
With possibly the season on the line, Paul Konerko came through in the eighth with a two-run homer to help lead the White Sox past the Mariners on Saturday, 11-7. Chicago trailed by five runs before rallying after a two-hour rain delay in the top of the sixth inning.
 
Paul Konerko hit two long balls, including going back-to-back with Joe Crede in the fifth, and Juan Uribe hit a grand slam to pace Chicago in a 12-7 victory over Seattle on Sunday. The win kept the White Sox 5 1/2 games behind the Twins in the Wild Card race.
 
Jon Garland exited after allowing 12 runs on 12 hits over 5 1/3 innings.

The White Sox reign officially ended Monday after a 14-1 loss in Cleveland and another Minnesota win. Jon Garland was knocked around by the Indians, the defense committed three errors and the offense wasted a bases-loaded situation in the first.


Garland got roughed up very bad today. Our season is over.

Let's see what management does with the team this offseason.

At least we got the Championship in 2005, I am good with that.!!!!!!:D
 
For two years, the rumor mill has churned up Miguel Tejada at the White Sox' doorstep. And for two years, the Sox have stuck by Juan Uribe. But no more. Everything you hear is that the Sox will be shopping for a new shortstop this winter, and spending a ton on a replacement doesn't seem to be what they have in mind.

Brandon McCarthy's performance today was the reason he needs to be in the rotation. He only pitched 5 1/3 but some of that has to be due to pitch count and he's been used in short relief all season. I have no idea what the teams offseason plans are but definately a new LF and the starting pitching is where to start. The team wasn't that far off they struggled the 2nd half but cutting ties with Buehrle would be a mistake. He's been a rock in the rotation aside from the 1st half this year and he struggled a couple years ago coming out but he's a quality LH pitcher on a team loaded with RH starters. Just me thinking but putting Haeger in the rotation and cutting ties with Garcia/Vazquez isn't a terrible idea. Vazquez has electric stuff since the 2nd half of his year with the Yankees he's not been a very good pitcher. I don't think the offense really needs to be fixed aside from a better LF brought in because Podsednik isn't good enough defensively to make up for his lack of production offensively.
 
White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper admitted Wednesday that he and catcher A.J. Pierzynski had an ''animated disagreement'' in the clubhouse in June. But as far as rumors that Cooper wanted Pierzynski traded or was told by pitcher Jon Garland that he also wanted Pierzynski moved this offseason, all three parties vehemently denied that scenario.

Jon Garland threw 8 1/3 shutout innings before giving up a three-run homer in the ninth inning of Saturday's 6-3 win over the Twins. Tadahito Iguchi went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and a homer to make Minnesota's run at the division title more difficult.
 
The White Sox could not duplicate their magical World Series run of last season as 2006 ended without as much as a trip to the postseason. Monster seasons from Jermaine Dye, Jim Thome and Joe Crede couldn't make up for inconsistent pitching.
 
Expect to hear some wild rumors over the winter, but don't expect the White Sox to add a big-name player such as Baltimore's Miguel Tejada or Washington's Alfonso Soriano. Do expect GM Ken Williams to make a run at Tampa Bay's Carl Crawford, even if the asking price for the outfielder is a front-line starter and top prospect or two.

The Phils would have interest in Seattle's Adrian Beltre, but it looks like the Mariners might not make him available. Joe Crede would be a nice fit if the White Sox deal him. Morgan Ensberg and Hank Blalock are available.

White Sox third baseman Joe Crede said Sunday he will decide "pretty soon" whether to undergo outpatient surgery on his stiff lower back. Crede said he was leaning toward avoiding surgery after meeting with a specialist last month.
