The Debate is FINALLY settled...The Fiedler haters.....WIN!!!

And they have at times (as mentioned in earlier post, see Okland and Washington). The problem with ANY QB that comes in here is that if they are ANYTHING short of Marino, the fans will NEVER really embrace them. Sad but true. Joe Robbie may have built this stadium, but it's Marino's ghost that haunts it. Until a generation comes along that never saw Dan play, he will always be the barometer to which all Dolphins QB's will be measured against.

I totally agree with you. I hope the open arms AJ is recieving now will remain.

That is not true. All Miami cares about is winning. If a quarterback comes in and actually plays well and Miami wins, and then Miami will accept him. Miami would love him. Decent quarterbacks are championed when they win.

I disagree, what did Marino win? Who ever cursed Marino, anyone want to drive him out of town because he never won?

Fiedler didn't do anything for miami to accept.
The bottom line is WITH that all-pro RB we used to have fiedler took us nowhere. I believe....I'm not saying we would have...I believe, with AJ we would have went deep into the playoffs if not the SB because of the added dimension of the deep ball. You cant put 8 or 9 in the box if a QB can beat you deep....we've never had that with Jay.

Marino won. He lead some crappy Miami teams to winning seasons.

Fiedler had talented Miami teams. He lead them to nothing.

Hmmmm, then explain why Jay hasn't been championed. Afterall, he still has one of the best winning percentages among active QBs. What I stated before is true. Anything short of Marino..........

Wait, Marino won nothing. 0 Superbowl wins.

Out of all those wins how many did you put on Jay's back.

Out of all those losses how many did you put on Jay's back.

That is the difference.

This anything short of Marino stuff is crap.

are we turning this into a bash Marino thread now?.....I think not....Marino did more with less talent than any football player in HISTORY!

This is true and every Dolphin fans knows because EVERYONE throws it up in our face at least once during a season. Marino, however, carried this team for years. Fiedler, unfortunately cannot. Neither will Feeley.

did I mention superbowls?

Isn't that the ultimate goal?

Your not judged by winning seasons, your judged by superbowl wins.

You start off the year wanting to win the superbowl, not just have a winning season.

Here is the bottom line with Jay Fiedler. All anyone has ever done for this bum is make excuses. After his first season, his poor play was the receivers' fault. So, Miami changes their receiving corps from top to bottom. Ooops. After his second season, his poor play was blamed on Lamar Smith and the running game. So, Miami trades a bounty for Ricky Williams, passing up an opportunity to eventually draft Patrick Ramsey. This was going to improve Jay's game. Ooops!! Now, it is the fault of the back up QB and the receivers again. So, Miami brings in Brian Griese and addresses the receiver position again. Ooops!!! His poor play was then the fault of the offensive line. Now, that has been completely changed. Pretty soon, you will realize that you can only change things around Jay Fiedler so much till you realize that Jay Fiedler is the problem.

I'm guessing that Dave's "sleeping on it" so he can think up some new excuses.

We're getting off the topic.......but ...did Marino ever have a top 5 defense like Fiedler has? NO....Did Marino ever have a RB worth anthing to another team?...NO:shakeno:
