I like this post because it gets right to the point, in a sort of roundabout manner.
It always seems to me that at this point in the NFL seasonal cycle, opinions are more plentiful because no one really knows what who the teams are going to draft or what their FA plans are. Unfortunately this is true for some of the teams management too.
Now, when the fans don't get the players they wanted or the positions addressed the way they wanted to be addressed, they go off the rails for the whole year; and sometimes even longer. While playing the guessing game is fun, I wouldn't take it too seriously.
All that counts is what the team is able to do with the people they have. I find it interesting to see how the coaches deal with the players and all the variety of personalities they represent; from the prima donnas (some more justified then others) to those that appreciate their situation and the opportunity it provides; and those just along for the ride and the money (until they're kicked off the bus).
Watching the team go through the season is like watching a small community responding to the challenges of life. Some do it better then others.
With our new coaching staff and new players I don't have a clue how this season will end, but it should be interesting; sometimes heartbreaking; sometimes comical and once and while awe inspiring. NO, I don't mean the ah #!!# kind of awe inspiring. I mean the Gronk eating some turf while we scored kind of inspiring. We just won't know until the games are played.
Lets take this season as it comes, because we can't really control it and we may be surprized at the performance the new coaching staff will provide.
