wade was selling fouls as bad as the italians calling for the stretcher against the US...at one point falling on his face...

the italians are always lying on the ground crying. italian soccer is one step below special olympics golf for me, and i love soccer...

wade actually gets fouled a lot. he attacks the basket. when you do that, people foul you. that's why they tell you to attack the basket when your jumper isn't falling. jump shooters only get fouled on defensive mistakes, which you can't rely on. wade did create a few tonight with pump fakes, but down the stretch there were times when he was looking to get fouled rather than score and he came up empty. it was only when he was determined to score that he either scored or went to the line, and that's the way it should be.

if you wanna look for a guy who gets to the line undeservedly, look at nowitzki's record for free throws made in the playoffs: he attacks the hoop consistently in about 1 out of every 3 games. other than that 1/3 of games, he's shooting jumpers, and a good portion of those are fallaways. yet he gets to the line enough to shoot 2-14 and get 16 points? wanna talk about playoff officiating?

how 'bout the glove? 2-2 on CLUTCH shots this series!

I have to agree...and I know he may not deserve it but I will say it anyway...God Bless Josh Howard's poor soul. I can't even begin to imagine what he will have to go through now.

Hey...I will say it again...DALLAS has a marvelous team..that deserves respect. Dirk erased all the "soft" and "choker" stuff (he did miss one big free throw)..and Terry is primetime (till Riley decides to eliminate him by putting Wade on him).

Howard is a wonderful player that had one of the biggest all-time choke moments in SPORTS HISTORY.

2 key missed free throws AND a losing your mind and calling a timeout when you called your last and have no shot to win BECAUSE you did that? THAT IS BIG.

Howard might have had the biggest choke job in history.

Thank god Stackhouse comes back...The Mavs actually gave the ball to Howard, Terry, and Dirk intead of feeding Stack off the bench.

WELCOME back STACK!!!!!!!!!

there is no reason one person should ever shoot 25 free throws.

there is no reason a foul should be called on a leg bump with 2 seconds left

the basketball fan with no stake in either team hates this garbage

They had to call that one at the end of the game. They called it on the wrong guy, but Wade was tripped. I could understand them letting the other 10 fouls that occured in that 5 second interval go but you have to call the trip.

I have to agree with the 25 foul comment though. The officials almost managed to ruin this game. If it wasnt for Wade and Dirk dueling at the end it would have been a lousy game. But this has been happening the entire playoffs. The officials pick who they want to give preferential treament to and that player cannot be touched. From the Heat perspective I counted 9 questionable touch fouls called on players guarding Dirk, most of them away from the ball. It just shows that its going both ways, and it has reached absurd levels.

Maybe you should have taken all the crap we got from officials all playoffs to appreciate it.
i dont share your perspective, so i dont know. but 25 free throws for one guy is criminal.

there wasnt a single person watching that game that can say they werent confident, if not certain, that wade was going to get the ball and get a foul call at the end

Good point. AND I WILL REPEAT: When you get a BS foul call on Dirk..he gets 2 Free throws and he shoots like 178% from the line. So it is always a free 2 points.

And again..the whole Heat front line almost fouled out. So yeah...home cooking my butt.

Not me.

I was confident Wade was going to sink a 15 foot jump shot because he is god.

Oh I agree. I felt really bad for the guy out there.

When it was all happening, you could see him getting ill right there. Just sick to his stomach.

You just hope something like that doesn't derail a guy's career, much like it does to certain baseball relievers.

I agree. I'll be the first to tell anyone here: Josh Howard is one of my 5 favorite players in basketball, period. I really, really feel for the guy. I mean, I'm glad it went down because otherwise, Dallas would've had 1.9 seconds left to get off maybe a pretty good look.

He's just gonna have to put it into his head & realize: basketball games aren't decided by one shot, one play, or even one sequence. Many, many downfalls led to that moment. I hope it doesn't bother Howard for uhh, any longer than THIS SERIES. I hope it does bother him this week though. :D

agreed

I think it's simple...Mavs win the series, all is forgotten...Heat win the series, he is destroyed.

i, too, feel sick for josh howard. i hate it when there's a goat. johnson pretty much admitted that he made a signal for the timeout after the free throw and assumed the team knew the signal. i say: don't create doubt at all. ask for the timeout when you need it, not before. instead of having your point guard trying to psych out the shooter, why wouldn't the coach just use that time to talk to him and tell him what you're going to do after the play? a coach like nick saban would never make assumptions about his team in such a situation. johnson will learn with experience...

Avery Johnson is making a fool out of himself in the press conference.
I find it hilarious.

I thought Jason Terry was gonna break something, maybe the camera......

I can't believe that Avery Johnson is making such a clown out of himself.

He just dressed down a reporter because he wouldn't say that it was a BS call on Wade's drive.

i agree with you except for the "pretty good look" part. the heat would have D'ed it up! maybe cuban will be really pissed and cut howard after the series. pat riley: get the man on the phone!
