The OFFICIAL "Start Matt Moore next game" Thread

Good to hear that's what it was actually like at the games because that's what I thought I saw happening on television. It has been so long since I've seen that kind of thing from our QB position.

Yeah, and the guys were responding to him also. I had never seen that with Henne and don't see as much of it with Tanny. Moore's a leader by inspiration from what I observed. He handles himself well in pressers too. I wish we could put Moore's head on Tannehill's body.. but since we can't... i've stated my position. :idk: But to defend Tannehill who I think overachieved last season despite the jets brainfart, given what he had to work with, I refuse to knock Matty by compariosn. He's a class act. And as far as Melty, yeah I love playing the Ryan card because it pisses off his uncritical fanboys as there's more than enough evidence at this point that at the worst times against good teams, if there was ever anything between his legs and ears, it's disappeared, yet the most OCD Tannehill detractors still refuse to admit that they wouldn't bet money on the 140th out of 140 playoff QBs rising to the occasion in a close game in a 2nd half playoff. I want a QB who can beat winning teams in win or go home crunchtime under the brightest lights. Not sorry for feeling like that, especially after 2008..

This shouldn't even be a discussion, it's picking the lesser of two sub par quarterbacks....how in the hell can you explain not be able to find a good quarterback and your team is in South Florida!!! Just walk up to first kid with dreadlocks and give him the ball, he couldn't do any worse than what we have!

Tannehill can beat playoff teams

wtf does this mean, moore had only faced 2 playoff teams in that season, and both games we lost by a combined 4-5 pts if i remember correctly.

tannehill has played 35 games, and we finished 7-9, and 8-8, and tannehill also loses to all the top 10 draft pick teams.

also, please pull up for me tannehill records vs playoff teams throughout his career, its not exactly great.

just because we have beaten the pats 2x dosent mean he plays well vs playoff teams.

this argument is so dumb, and not too mention this dude also led us to 7 pts in 2 games vs crap teams last year, and we missed out on the playoffs because of it.( let me guess though, that wasnt anything to do with tannehill, but when the dolphins beat a playoff team, it tannehill gets all the credit).

based on his play on the field, what exactly has made u say '' wow, i want this guy as my qb''?

You know what's funny about all this, I am pretty certain if Moore and Tannehill switched situations, and Moore was the one taken 8th overall and Tannehill was the backup who came in and played decent in spot duty, the same people calling for Moore right now would be calling for Tannehill.

It's not about the players themselves, because Moore isn't a noticeably superior QB to Tannehill - it's about the situations. Tannehill isn't living up to his draft status so people just want something different. But in all likelihood "different" won't account for much difference and success on the field of history is any guide.

I just want to win and don't really care who the QB is because I don't have any kind of attachment to players. The only one I ever did was Marino and his play warranted it.

rent this space, i went and looked up his record vs playoff teams from those years as fins qb.

in 14 games, he is 6-8 vs playoff teams, so u saying he can beat playoff teams, he is not even 500 vs them.

if that's the best argument rent has as to why RT should remain our starting QB even if he doesn't improve his play then FAIL. I'd like for rent or anyone to tell me why RT should remain our starter if his play remains at the same level it's been for the past 5 games.

agreed, they cant tell us what he does better than moore.

as we r able to point out, moore is able to throw the deep ball, which will lead to wallace being utilized the way he should be, and will stretch the field as defenses will need to respect that, and this will lead to more pts on the scoreboard.

Above all, don't lie to yourself.

Exactly. It's so easy. Run the ball ball, bring 'em in and play action bomb it over their heads. Just like the video games. :troll:

To be fair though this is exactly what we did in 2011. Offense couldn't score in red zone. Marshall was collecting dust. We switched to Moore and the deep ball comes alive as does our PPG. And Marshall goes to the pro bowl.
