I believe brewer did not participate in OTAS either so he hasn’t gotten much work on the field at all since signing as a free agent

I would be in favor of drafting IDL high next year depending on how the draft falls. Love Sieler, and Campbell should be good enough this year but for 2025 on I don't think anyone else on the roster for IDL will be more than depth.

That would wash if there weren’t teams out there with consistently good lines. Solving to the average is a losing mentality.

The offensive line is already bad. The depth there is atrocious. This is not ideal to beat good teams, much less compete for an actual championship.

Chop setting the edge looked like a real problem. He also can get swallowed up by offensive linemen such that he needs some counter moves. He needs to get off blocks. He should study Cam Wake.

Until these issues are resolved, I think his best bet is to be a situational pass rusher. If you can scheme him into some rushes from unpredictable spots, his athleticism can be a real problem for offenses. But if he’s in regular spot that an OT can account for, he’s going to have problems.
 
James Daniels is supposedly on the trade market. The problem is it’s a one year rental and his contract is significant by guard standards. I’d be interested if the Steelers are realistic on compensation. To take on that contract and for it being a rental, you lose the opportunity cost of drafting a low salary guy and having him for four years.

We knew this going in to the draft though.

Just gotta hope he can progress and become a 3 down edge. Next year we will know more.

Solving for average at OL so that you're solving for best in the league at skill position groups isnt a losing mentality at all.
