There is no need to draft a QB or even sign one.

Have you seen Flynn's touchdowns in the Lions game? The Lions defense gave most of it away, not the Packers offense. Secondly, why the hell are we getting hard-ons for a 7th-round draft pick? I wouldn't have been that excited, if I were New England, when Brady replaced Bledsoe at first, either. Not every back-up QB is Brady. You comparison holds no water.

neither does your take of flynns tds in the lions game...

Are you basing this argument on Flynn's skill sets or just the fact he was a 7th round pick?

Personally I think Flynn is worth a shot simply because he will cost us no picks, however, he is high risk high reward. I don't think anyone can say for certain how he will transition into being a starter, but IMO it's a better route than trading the farm to move up in the draft.

You're problem is that you are trying to make my argument something it is not. I have no hard on for Flynn........pay attention that my point was about the SITUATION that Flynn is in. Where have you seen me say I think Flynn is the next Brady? He could suck as a starter........my point was that we just won't know bc Aaron Rodgers is on the Packers.

My comparison holds plenty water.

Let's not forget Flynn broke records that Rodgers has not. Against the Detriot Lions who were a playoff team.

Yes let's wait another year, and another year, and another year.................the next thing you know it, it will have been since 1983 since we picked a QB in the first round of the draft. Are you picking up what i'm layin down here?

I say lets draft blackmon 1st and address the right tackle spot, the defense will be ok this team needs to get the ball in the endzone.

Since when did it become acceptable to throw millions at a player for being possibly a starter, without having proven himself? In what world does it make sense to pay him millions of dollars when he might not be an upgrade from Matt Moore? I mean, come on! If he is signed, it means that he is starting, and didn't you learn anything from annoiting a quarterback before there is competition? Either way, Miami loses. Give Moore another year and then trade up for a QB when there is a chance to land one. At this moment, other than Luck, everyone else is a risky proposition at QB.

worse thread than the we should have kept sparano one...and i didn't think that was possible...well done op...well done
Don't be so negative. There's always room for improvement...haven't seen any "bring back Wannstache" threads.

Hoc is trolling...
Hoc from 790? I could see that. This is definitely his brand of annoying humor.

i got one guy posting a thread about a saints story and how the saints turned things around who i guess doesn't realize that drew brees is the exact reason that thing turned around in new orleans and another guy posting this thread about how we don't need a qb...

the stuff people come up with...i tell ya

ok, more of you making an argument about something never even remotely said. Please friend go look around and find me an NFL QB that doesn't make millions of dollars. That made no sense. What are you going to pay that first round QB you draft next year....."hundreds" of dollars?

Im done with this conversation.

IMO: Henne did great when he played. Moore was good. Matt Flynn is good. Why not sign Flynn and let these 3 guys battle it out for starter. All 3 are good QBs, nothing elite yet...but good. Let's fix this OL, find us a good pass rusher, a good safety and next year we do all we can to get Matt Barkley. Unless we trade up for Andrew Luck, we have no reason to trade up. Griffin is a mobile QB, and mobile QBs dont go anywhere (Vick?) Landry Jones doesnt excite me, Tannehill hasnt been a QB for long, Weeden is 28, Nick Foles actually might be a good pickup in the 2nd round.

TJ Yates was a 5th rounder, and look how far he took the Texans. Seeing that Schaub is coming back, I wouldnt mind trying to snatch Yates from the Texans either. But if we can draft Jonathan Martin in the 1st, a pass rusher in the 2nd, OG Zeitler in the 3rd and sign a good FA pass rusher...we are good to go.

let's continue to IGNORE the most important position in ALL of sports... let's shore up our O and D line some more.

Guaranteed recipe for success....

Because you don't conduct business/go to war/engage in an operations/build a team/or do anything with hopes of success with what you wish you had. You do it with what you've got, and risk assessments and cost benefit analysis. We all want a quarterback, but reality dictates the Phins aren't going to have enough to move up in the draft. The other alternative is Flynn, who comes expensive and might or might not succeed. From a long-range perspective, it makes more sense to build the team at other positions first. No one is advocating that we skip on getting a QB - it's just a matter of what is possible when.
Every team has holes. Miami's biggest hole has been the QB position. If their man is on the board or a Free Agent, you assess the cost vs reward and decide your course of action. To say Miami doesn't have "enough to move up in the draft" makes no sense. The second spot is not going to be that costly. They also have the option of gaining picks while moving down. If they go that route they can still get a shot at drafting a quality QB?

How can you predict what is available next year in comparison with what's on the table now? Seems you are preparing for battle wishing for something next year.
