TheRedzone.org reports Jason Taylor expected to sign with the Jets

I think what most fellow Dolfans aren't thinking about is the "primary issue" at hand that the FO is trying to establish which is for us to endure a 3 year rebuilding project.

Hence, this is Year 3 of that project and now that we've finally brought in the kind of much needed aggressive defensive-minded personnel (Nolan as the DC, and Sheridan as the LB coach) to effectively cure this tainted Defense thanks to Pasqualoni and his "predictable/vanilla" schemes NOW IS THE TIME to put fear into ALL of the opposing offenses we confront this upcoming season.

Veteran leadership is a must and I understand that but come on people some of us are acting like Charlie Anderson won't or can't replace JT's void if he should sign elsewhere. Anderson did an admirable job filling in for JT if he needed a breather, and also the few games he missed due to injury.

I also think that Nolan is more concerned with having veteran leadership at the FS and NT skill positions as opposed to the LB core. I mean look what he did with an "inexperienced OLB" in Elvis Dumervil (he made Dumervil a Pro-Bowler in his 1 and only season as the Broncos D. Coordinator).

JT has painfully and visibly lost a few steps so why not get younger and faster in the front 7????

JT is going nowhere..He wants to be close to home...

Why would he sign with NY?

So he can live in dumphole NJ?

I dont think so..Its not like he can get huge money either..he can only sign for that wee bit amount...

If we dont want him , then hey I wish him luck

:rolleyes2:

Dumervil had one bad year in the 3 before Nolan. he did have 12.5 sacks 2 years earlier, it's not like Nolan made Vernon Gholston into a sackmaster.

Dumervil also played DE in those years before Nolan also since prior to last season Denver if I'm not mistaken ran a 4-3 Defensive formation.

I'm referring to last season when Dumervil switched to OLB in the 3-4 to illustrate my point.

Vernon Gholston a sackmaster????

He'd be lucky if he even plays on ST this year....and I vividly remember all the BS all the so-called draft experts said about not only us taking Jake at #1(too slow-footed to play LT better suited for RT in the pros) to the Jets getting Gholston (dominating pass rush specialist, workout warrior, physical specimen, handled Jake Long in their 1-on-1 matchups, blah blah blah, etc.)

some of you guys need to get a clue and stop being so gullable.

JT won't be signing with the Jets. The max they can offer him is 1.5 million. You really think JT is going to sign with a team not named the Miami Dolphins for 1.5 million?? And oh by the way is coming from the NY Jets??

JT will be a Dolphin or play on another team not in the AFC east next season. Period.

what I don't seem to see people talking about much in all of this is the fact that the jets are stuck paying him what they paid Jay Feely since he's the free agent they lost. In that case, the max they would be able to offer JT would be 1.5 mil which is what the fins paid him last year. It's not like the Jets will be able to throw boatloads of cash at him, or have any leverage in signing him. I feel like all it would take is a phone call back to the fins... hey they are offering him 1.5 and then fins come back with 1.51 and it would be a done deal.

The jets won't be able to pay a dollar more than 1.5 mil.

I don't think anybody could make Gholston a sackmaster. I said it the day he was drafted and I still say it, the guy was a huge reach and is going to be a NFL bust.

Maybe year three is when Gholston finally gets his first NFL sack. :chuckle:

Armando Salguero is reporting his wife Katina made the trip with him, if those are not signs of him seriously considering being a jet, I dont know what is.

JT is acting like a two-face *****.

So he can live in dumphole NJ?
:err:

LOT of Jersey folks on this board, myself included, who would take offense. Northwest jersey and the shore are beautiful if you ever go there.

I understand your love of Miami, but let's leave the bashing of NJ to the morons from NYC who have never been anywhere in the state outside of Newark.

Nub,

can you change the title of the thread to theredzone.org not redzone.org

theredzone.org is the correct website, redzone.org is a hippie site.

If JT signs with the jets......F**ck him and everything he has ever done as a Dolphin. Matter of fact, go ahead and give some street FA scrub #99 this pre-season just for the h*ll of it.

If he doesn't, well, then I take it back.

Jason Taylor's visit to the Jets has turned into quite the little soap opera.

There have been numerous conflicting reports whether he would sign by the end of the day or not. Taylor prefers to play in Miami, so we've doubted the Jets could close the deal so quickly. His agent said as much this morning to the Miami Herald.

Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News added a late afternoon update that a deal is unlikely to be reached tonight.

Fireman Ed was luckily available for an interview: "[Taylor is] such a meathead," he said. Miami fans aren't amused by the thought of Taylor leaving either.

Ed may not be on the welcome wagon yet, but the Jets are pulling out all the stops. The team planned to show Taylor highlights of his career on the team's new stadium scoreboard.
