This looks good for Joe

He needs to be sanctioned or something. He sources give him conflicting info every hour on the hour

Again if Martin didn't tell anybody, and he's introverted, it's going to be tough to tell if something is actually bothering him unless he tells them. When it got out he left the team some players said he started acting more aloof in recent days. So it's quite possible that nobody knew or could tell if he really didn't change that much.

Someone can be on top of the organization and still have something occur in it they aren't aware of can't they? Help me understand what Philbin should've done.

Also curious how everyone is bashing the other players for not stepping in or the coaches not doing anythig, yet every player and coach so far says they never saw anything. Also curious, that former Dolphin players that have no reason to defend the Dolphins' locker room are saying they never saw any bullying. Maybe this "bullying" and "racist rants" were really only in the texts and voice mails that no one outside Obama could access. I think it is very possible that no one really knew what was going on between Martin and Incognito. Perhaps what they saw in the locker room between the two guys was indeed just your normal joking.

This obviously doesn't excuse Incognito for his racist phone messages, but I would also like to actually hear them and get the tone. As Armando pointed out earlier today, the Martin family only turned over written transcripts of those messages, not the actual message itself. How come? Why not actually let the NFL and the Dolphins hear the messages? I think Martin has just as much to explain as Incognito and the Dolphins do.

Tone and even the biggest of smiles on Incognitos face could not make calling someone a half breed n!99er endearing. Someone threatening your family is also not something that can be ignored regardless to how it was said.

Sign of reality kicking in. Yesterday it was "up the management chain," and today it's "Martin didn't tell anyone." Which is likely much closer to the truth as it is NON-SENSATIONAL.

Schefter has been sensational in the past, related to Incognito. He ran w. radical sensationalism on this story -- right up until he realized that he was bordering on slandering people who know how to fight back. Schefter is a passive-aggressive media bully. He just does his bullying from behind a desk and hides behind a computer screen.

I believe that he didn't reach out to the coach - but why didn't he? Did he not trust Philbin enough to go talk to him? This whole situation is so lame.

I like Schefter, but he's made it quite clear in the past he doesn't like Incognito. I've noticed a bit of a change in how some people are treating the story today as more people come out as more teammates come out saying "Martin didn't tell us anything"

Pure speculation on Wanny's behalf. I don't believe if they weren't notified they should either. They can't be responsible for something that they had no idea was going on and now plan to fight. (Something by all accounts now that they also didn't have a chance to correct, which I believe would have happened if Martin had just told someone how he felt.)

i.e. I don't think my engineering firm would pay my "facility" bills if I had a mental breakdown, that they feel they had no fault in causing. It's why I have insurance.

Especially if the only thing that happened "in" the organization was normal hazing and pranking that Martin was also a part of. If the only racist, hateful remarks were made on the phone and no one showed Philbin, how would he know?

From what I've heard he didn't go to Philbin b/c he was embarrassed. That isn't anyone's fault but his or maybe his upbringing.

C'mon. Schefter maybe the passive aggressive media bully you say he is but the thought process you describe is not why people are suddenly quick to believe the veracity of his story. It's much more simple than that. Anti-dolphins.......media hack who has an anti miami agenda. Pro-phins.......everything he says is true. Just like with pretty much every other media member.
