Thoughts On This Play By Tua - Is The Commentator Right?

but how can you say he doesnt have the angle? on first one he does second one he also adjusts like hill to the ball placement.

like I know you didnt say its and throw,(tbf your one of ones on here i think has some of best objective unbiased takes, and your posts are a joy to read) im jsut sayin we cannot say this would be that if this happens,

to quote an old sayin (maybe very british)

if my aunty had a dick, she would be my uncle (not tryin to offend, hope you get the point)

aka its not that way, it is what it is and we cannot speculate as to what would of happened, we have no idea.. maybe you are right sure its a possibility but then maybe your not we don't and won't ever know, so to the original point of this whole topic that if he throws it further its a td, its a dumb arguement to make cause no one ahs any idea what events play out in that situation.

Here’s what I mean by the angle, look at this picture and you can see Hamlin defending the seam starting to backpedal, while Reek is running as fast as he can straight down the field:

Now if you look in this still, Reek is already slowing down to adjust to the ball as you can see by how he’s running, but he’s already made it 10 yards further downfield than the first still, meanwhile Hamlin has only made up a few yards of ground:

And look the at the third still and how much room there is still between him and Reek:

So I think a stronger throw there and Hamlin doesn’t have the angle to catch Reek. Thanks for the compliment btw.

Watching the all-22 live I think if he throws it with better technique and drives it in then I don’t think Hamlin had enough time to recover. Dunno why you think that’s complete nonsense

Because it’s a 30 yard gain in a game where he was like 27 for 30 with no turnovers and we were not losing at the time the offense left the field.

Even bringing up a play in a game like this is expecting a level of perfection that’s never been displayed before. Not by Marino, not by Mahomes, not by Brady, not by Manning/Montana etc. it’s just stupid to be this picky and even mention it. That’s the complete nonsense.

I’m not expecting perfection at all, I’m merely analyzing this specific throw…like why does it have to be anything more than that? There are no hidden motives I have, Tua played amazing this game and it’s in his top 5 best games ever in my book but this throw could’ve been thrown better and I feel like he left points on the board. It was still a good throw, as it was a 30 yard gain

There’s no arguing this you are wasting your time even on stills which I hate it’s obvious

I really thought there would be more no argument on the matter given the video evidence but I guess people see different things.

Yes that was complete horseshit, and we still had a shot if Reek catches a perfectly placed pass. Tua played very well that game
one of the more poorly officiated games i have ever seen. i hate whining about the refs, but this one was beyond the pale.

but that third still is after he has also adjusted to the new ball placement right? you get my point from that first still if he runs flat out diagonally towards teh corner by end zone, does he intercept reek? we will never know.

I think this third still doesnt prove anything becasue of how reek and hamlin have adjusted there movement based on ball placement, cause hell you see hamlin here is now running directly to reek, where as before that he is prob as said gonna run diagonally away on an intercept course, so both players have had to alter there movement because of where the ball is. meaning its total specualtion on where they go/ what plays out if the ball is throw over the top.

theres no doubt reek might get extra few yards for sure, but other then that who can tell

They don’t know what they are looking at.
a combination of that, and just seeing what they want to see. a double whammy. although honestly unclear why it is hard to call a spade a spade. qbs, even the best of them, make poor plays, at times. like when brady left a ball up high to welker in a super bowl, when he was wide open. could have cost them the game. there was still a chance for welker to catch the ball, but really he was wide open and brady turned and easy catch into a hard one. of course brady being brady, a lot of people jumped on welker for that one, but it was really brady's fault. at least, in brady's case, he had earned the benefit of the doubt. this one, i wouldn't necessarily call it a poor play, because the ball was still completed. but going back to the point of the original commentator, it was not an elite play. and in this case, they only left the field with 3 points

what annoyed me most is the media after wards, we got smashed we got destroyed..

we were still in the game late into the third , even with the worst refing I have ever seen, like the fins that night did everything they could with the house against them , in a no win situation and still made the eagles work for it

The qb left a td on the field. That’s the bottom line.

We can agree to disagree and that’s fine you are entitled to your view, but respectfully i think you are wrong on this one, IMO a better thrown ball with more force leads to a walk in TD.

I just don’t think Hamlin is catching Reek in a straight line especially when he starts off aleady behind on the play due to having play the seam route

Yeah that was a joke

They had it in for us the entire time.
here we go per my prior on welker.

start here, with this headline, welker costs the pats a super bowl: https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/...-the-patriots-a-super-bowl-title/81224353007/

here is the actual play, yeah he could have caught the ball, but what a terrible pass. wide open, no pressure in brady's face, and he airmails the thing and puts it behind him too. in my mind, there is a chicken and an egg here, and it started with the sh*t throw. it would be one thing if pressure in his face, but this was quite another thing. Actually I am curious what you think, crap throw? How do you slice the blame pie between Brady and Welker on this one? Even though it says video unavailable, click through to you tube:
