Well let's be honest, the guy hasn't even gotten to the point where he's "flashed" during actual football games. He flashes in basically one out of four preseason games. He had a 28 yard TD in one preseason game in 2011 and a 31 yard catch in another preseason game in 2010. That's 13 catches for 175 yards and 2 TDs in 8 games.

Sounds like Johnson's Patriot debacle.

no argument from me...and i keep hearing the plays he is making is against likely camp cuts so we'll see...sounds encouraging at least

its what happens when you move a guard to center...

Or when the QB (Moore) has had continuous fumbling problems throughout his career and the other (Tannehill) is a rookie who is trying to get into his dropback as quick as possible. Girrard and Pouncey have yet to botch an exchange which makes me believe the fumbling problem is with the previously mentioned QB's and not the center. I believe Tanny will figure it out as he has great hands and is just beginning to work with Pouncey, they will click soon enough. Moore never will, as he has already proven to have fumblitis.

Sounds like M. Moore still seems to have his fair share of fumbles.

Remember that Brian Hartline has impressed during actual regular season football games. When Roberto Wallace has had his chances during games...he's generally blown them.
What exactly has Brian hartline done that has been impressive during actual games? The guy has been in the league for 3 years, has started 21 games the last 2 seasons and the best season he's put together was 43 receptions for 615 yards and 1 TD, hardly impressive in my book.

I don't mean to sound harsh, I do agree with you that Roberto Wallace has made his presence felt and is looking more and more like a guy who can make the team. I think what is interesting is he's crossing over from being a guy that flashes to being a guy that consistently brings it in the practices. That's a very tough thing to do...going from being a strobe light to a flood light. But being realistic, he's not even assured of a roster spot yet, let alone a spot ahead of Brian Hartline.
This is the same argument I'd make with Hartline, he's shown flashes here and there but he is nowhere near a model of consistency. I guess my point is that while yes it is still early to say Roberto Wallace has earned anything, he should by all means get the nod over Hartline if he outperforms him in the offseason.

Has Roberto Wallace made these plays against 1st string defenses or are they #2's and #3's?

I would have to believe it is with the 1's, because he is basically stepping in for Hartline at this point, isn't he?

That also means that the number of targets he is getting is also artificially inflated. If Hartline comes back, the amount we hear from him may drop...or he should be killing against the 2's...

I still consider Hartline a #4, but I did notice that he caught a number of passes last year in heavy coverage on the sidelines and has shown good hands. But I do agree that there has been nothing that makes me think he will become a star.

However if he is the #2, he will get a lot more targets and his numbers will increase proportionally...which will still not be overwhelming IMO...

I disagree with you. I've watched and re-watched every pass thrown his way the last two years. I've even captured them on video for quick and easy reference. Brian Hartline has grown into a decent wide receiver, and he's consistent. He hasn't had opportunities because of a combination of bad quarterbacking and the presence of an elite receiver in Brandon Marshall, who demanded a lot of focus from the QB and offensive coordinator in the passing game.

I think if he'd been healthy he would be showing that in this training camp and during OTAs and Mini Camps. He's better than people think, though not good enough to be deemed an elite receiver in his own right (yet). There are a few things he could add to his game to where, if he did successfully add those things, he could actually produce like a 1,000+ yard receiver.
