Dion Jordan doesn't have a natural starting position in our 4-3 defense. As a result, he'll probably continue playing as a backup rotational player.

One of our biggest holes is CB opposite Brent Grimes. If we added a shutdown CB, then our talented front four DL, combined with two shutdown CBs, could really solidify the defense.

Dion Jordan was the 3rd overall pick last year, with a lot of talent. If Miami has the chance to trade Dion Jordan for a shutdown CB, would you be for it?

What team has an expendable shut down corner?

Sherman, Revis, Peterson, Haden <<< yeah but that ain't gonna happen. :idk:

there are probably 2 or 3 of those shutdown type corners, no one is trading one for Dion Jordan but one will be available again next offseason in FA.

Smart thing to do with Jordan either way is to scheme him into the defense to see if he is a player. If he shows he's an impact player, even situational, he would establish a value. As it is right now, he's probably looked at by most teams as developmental. Miami needs to through him in. Boom or bust.

I know everyone believes in Jordans potential but in this hypothetical scenario I would escort Jordan to MIA myself.

Uh..... sure?

But no team would make that move.

Elite shut down corner way more rare than a up and coming DE/3-4 OLB

yep!!

or a pro bowl guard.

not to be rude, but stfu!.. why trade Dion? What if he turns out to be special? How about we wait and see what we have before giving it away.

I'd like to see what Dion Jordan can do in his 2nd year before even considering trading him, not to mention seeing if Jamar Taylor is any good as well. We could potentially already have an excellent CB in Taylor, but would never know if he doesn't get a chance. After this season is at least in full swing I'd have a better idea if a trade would even be a good thing, but as of now I think it's premature to consider.

trading Dion will nail us with a $10m cap penalty, even someone was willing to trade us a "shutdown corner" (Sherman, Peterson, Revis, or Haden) we would not have the cap space to put them on the roster.

He was not traded in the offseason or leading up to or during the draft think it's time to put those rumors to bed.
