Trade Dion Jordan for a shutdown CB? Would you do it?

Actually we're not, we have one solid/proven CB and a whole LOT of question marks.

We are in much better shape then last year. Last year we had Grimes coming off an injury so he was a question mark, and injury prone Patterson, Carroll who at best was shaky, and two rookies with injuries.

This year we have a Grimes coming off a career year, 2 healthy soft mores, Finnegan is a question marks after a bad year due to injuries but was one of the best CB his whole career when healthy, and we have a rookie.

Going into the season i have:

2014 Grimes>2013 Grimes (no injury concerns)
2014 Taylor>2013 Taylor (experience and healthy)
2014 Davis>2013 Davis (experience and healthy)
Finnegan>Patterson
Aikens<Caroll

Can we just make a day where you can post about trading Jordan, Wake, or any other good player on our team? Then the next day we can designate for why our team has no "impact players"

when has Jordan proven to be a good player

---------- Post added at 09:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:40 PM ----------

no team in the league would trade a shutdown corner for huge unknown with upside who lost playing time to derrick shelby

Clearly it won't happen...ya know why? Because no team is dumb enough to give away a proven shut down corner for an unproven player that has not done squat. All those saying that they would not make that trade are out of their damn minds. Absolutely guaranteed that Miami would make that trade.

you spoke about him as a good player and he hasn't proven squat so what point did I miss

Fine, Ill spell it out. Every other day on here there are posts talking about trading our players for either other players or draft pics. Those posts are typically followed by people complaining we dont have any good talent on this team. You cannot argue that Dion Jordan isnt a good talent. That is universally recognized. So my post is in commentary on the types of posters who continually want to lose our talented players and complain we have none at the same time. However, you seem to want to nit pick just for the sake of argument.

Just wish La Canfora never got the Dion Jordan trade idea into the heads of fans. He, along with Wallace and Wake, was never going to be traded. La Canfora fabricated the entire story and kept puffing his chest out as if it was going to happen. Main free agent period and the draft came and went and SURPRISE, no trades. Any credibility he had is gone now. It is a shame CBS is not punishing him or even firing him for making things up and flat out lying.

Dion Jordan doesn't have a natural starting position in our 4-3 defense. As a result, he'll probably continue playing as a backup rotational player.

One of our biggest holes is CB opposite Brent Grimes. If we added a shutdown CB, then our talented front four DL, combined with two shutdown CBs, could really solidify the defense.

Dion Jordan was the 3rd overall pick last year, with a lot of talent. If Miami has the chance to trade Dion Jordan for a shutdown CB, would you be for it?

You may be right that Jordan doesn't have a natural starting position in our 4-3 defense but he was a key part of the hybrid look Coyle wanted to run last season. That is why Jordan not only lined up at right defensive end but also right outside linebacker, left outside linebacker, inside linebacker and defensive tackle.

I understand that a shut down corner is important but so is a healthy Jordan to the hybrid defense Coyle wants to run.
